Anyone have an informed and unbiased opinion on how our two new rookies Ryan Jackson and Craig Flint are going? I heard they did ok in the praccie match for the Bullants.

I think we have room to promote a rookie so is one of these guys worth the punt or is Jesse Smith ahead of them both?

Maybe we could use Flint in defence if he develops throughout the year. Sounds like he's very comfortable down there and knows his game.

Cheers.

Too early to tell Pivot.

If we do decide to promote one of them to the Senior List, I'd image it wouldn't be done anytime soon. I don't think it's an open and shut case of we've got a spot on the list, so let's fill it. They will need to earn a spot on the list.

I think we'll bide our time before making any promotions.

Yeah would have to agree with a wait and see policy. Jackson and Flint need time to deliver and there is no rush to promote anyone just yet. The players we already have on the sneior list need games time and opportunitities first.

Hopefully Smith makes a good recovery and is able to hit some form with the Bullants and push for a promotion. Like the look of him.

With Bentick, Murphy and Blackwell all looking good and given some time by Pagan, Smith might be 4th in line and have to wait. Is listed at 183cm and 85kg so the body is ready and he can kick a goal too so maybe he's worth a try at some stage.

bibi, i'm pretty sure we were granted special permission from the AFL to promote one rookie (i think ESS were granted this under the same rule last year when they promoted Lovett). But then again of course i could be wrong

We can promote a rookie during the year without an LTI, I think it may have something to do with only having Kouta on the Vets list.

(thanks Kevin :thumbsu:)

Spot on. 5 rookies instead of 6 last year. 39 players on the main list and not 38 like last year.
