Can't defend, has erratic ball use and gets run down from behind more often than any player in the comp.

We need to stop weening ourselves off our duds and cut the cord with more certitude.

Yeah we seem to have a reluctance to make a judgement call on our players & decide to cull the ones that just aren't going to make it.

Quick question to anyone? Has any player for any club been delisted & then rookied & gone on to have a decent career?
We did it with Gault & I think Goodyear as well. No doubt others but all have eventually been let go.
Just make the decision & move on ffs. Don't hedge our bets when the answers are there in front of us.

Neville Jetta is the first one that comes to mind and I'm pretty sure there are others.

Brett Kirk was delisted by the Swans early on I think. Same with Amon Buchanan after just a handful of games and he went on to play in a flag.

Oxley contracted though so may as well retain him for minimal cost and risk. Time will tell what decision the club makes.....rookie one two or neither of them
Oxley wouldn’t be on much surely. He’s run his race. He won’t make it. Id rather give someone else a chance on the rookie list.

Fair enough. Depends how many rookie list vacancies we have and need. We probably have room for two mature age players on the rookie list and still leaving tons of room for new talent

Podsiadly and Mahoney are two premiership players who were sacked by Collingwood as youngsters. And Hartley had a great year for the Bombers last season

Was it Andrew Lovett or Nathan Lovett Murray that spent time on our rookie list?

Jason Porplyzia was delisted by Adelaide and then re-drafted. Pretty sure Hayden Skipworth was in the same boat, though I probably wouldn’t class him a success.

Interesting name popped up on this state league draft prospect article. Although his 2019 stats look good with a second ACL in early 2018, which lead to a managed 16 WAFL games in 2019 one has to question whether he's overcome the injury issues. Good luck to him either way.

Jackson Ramsay (East Perth – WAFL)

Age:
24

Position: Midfielder (184cm, 83kg)

2019 Champion Data scout profile: 30.2 disposals (elite), 17 uncontested possessions (elite), 5.2 marks (elite), 5.8 clearances (above average), 6.1 score involvements (elite)

A familiar name for Collingwood fans as Ramsay spent five years at the Pies, mainly as a defender. But this WAFL season for East Perth, Ramsay thrived as a full-time midfielder and consistently racked up a ridiculous numbers, three 38-plus disposal hauls across a five-week patch. As much as it’d love to retain him, East Perth is reportedly preparing to lose Ramsay to an AFL club.

Mathew Hammelman looks a likely type, 197cm, very athletic, good on the ground and good kick and mark

The other tall, aside from Riccardi, that is interesting is Ottavi. I wonder if he isn't talked up more because he is played as a ruck. I wonder if he could become a key forward? He has a pretty complete skill set.

Hammelman is a key forward who has kicked 126 goals from his last 36 games in the NEAFL, havn't heard of Ottavi

Why? His numbers as a defender pre-ACL were excellent.

We were all really bullish on this board and the club must have been too, as they brought him straight back into the seniors in Round 1 after the knee injury and despite him playing ordinarily, they continued to select him for the first 5 games. Then at the end of that season, where he not surprisingly struggled coming back from a knee injury, they cut him. It was the most perplexing management of a player that I can remember as a Pie supporter.
