I rate him as the most impressive rookie we have had since Joel Selwood.

Harry was no teenager when we got him, and had had a long and healthy grounding in arguably the second best footy comp in the land. Comparisons are always highly subjective at the best of times, so without ranking him, Jackson's doing pretty damn well for one so young and with so short a time spent within an ALF club environment.
One thing I see him do, and Guthrie as it happens, is take extra care laying the ball on his boot.
It's like a little frozen moment in a pressure situation, where he takes a millisecond to concentrate totally on connecting boot to ball.
I noticed it a few times in the GWS game.
He has surprised me this year. Wells has chosen superbly again!
most impressive thing about Thurlow is his vision, I think alot of young kids blaze away when they have the ball he is great at lowering his eyes and finding the right target
Yep. Except Daniel.I rate him as the most impressive rookie we have had since Joel Selwood.
Yep. Except Daniel.
..... We're going well at the moment obviously, but the lack of development time in to those super-talented x-factor types could really compromise our ability to effect a smooth rebuild over the next couple of years.
I know, I know.Don't go there Reg.
Too much pain.
Thurlow IMO is on par with Selwood and Hawkins as the best prospect we've signed in a decade. Think he's nailed on to be a star and it's only his physical development that's stopping him from play as a regular at the moment. I'll be putting a fair chunk of money on him to win the rising star next season if he's eligible.

Save your money and put it on Mitchell. This boy is ready made star material. Thurlow will be good, no doubt, probably very good and wouldn't change him for quids.....
Mitchell looks on another plane right now...
Mitchell definitely won't be eligible next year, it will be his third year in the system. Thurlow could potentially be eligible, depending on how many more games he gets this year.Save your money and put it on Mitchell. This boy is ready made star material.

*edit: My bad, Mitchell could potentially still be eligible. Did they change the rules recently? Always thought only first year and second years were eligible.
High praise there Dan
On the rising star , I doubt it but thats just my cynicism. So much young talent out there and guys like Hogan and Martin will be strong performers.
I know, I know.
I also agree, barring injury, that Mitchell will play almost all games this year. Thurlow could play enough to make him ineligible next year, he has already shown the doubters that he has the talent. Many on here were saying he wouldn't play one game. I don't think he'd win the RS next year anyway, regardless. He will be a good player, but there will be some freaks coming through next year as well.Mitchell I think will play too many games this season. He's a regular in that team from here. Doubt Thurlow will play more than 3-4 which will have him under the 10.
