It might be good 4 him to put himself to the test in the pre pre season.

He has moved into that thin ice area.. not the certain end for him but his place is certainly in a place of vulnerability. Others have taken the place originally planed for him. It would not surprise to see his name linked to other clubs as the year progresses.

Guthrie only played limited game time (three quarters) so I suspect he'll be given another run in the VFL.

You would have said the same about Black as not being one of his pets, but what CS said on the weekend suggests he rates them both. He did mention Thurlow's great VFL form. He needs to take this Black opportunity now and become that player we thought he could be, Problem is Henry has emerged, and Hendo also looms.

Also Ryan Abbott, great numbers for a ruckman and opposed to Preuss l suppose.

Play out of your skin in the vfl to get a game, and carry that form into the seniors when you get the chance.

Guthrie admits his ankle is still yet to return to 100 per cent but is confident he’ll have no issues with it as he builds up his training load and matchplay.

“The actual surgery really reinforces the ankle, so it was probably less about re-hurting the ankle and more about feeling comfortable on it,” he said.

“It’s still not 100 per cent but it’s getting there. Hopefully, I’ll be back 100 per cent soon.”
