Jaguars selected Florida CB C.J. Henderson with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
A three-year starter at Florida, Henderson (6’1/204) earned freshman All-SEC honors with five starts in year one, second-team All-SEC the following year, and first-team All-SEC (not to mention second-team All-America) in his junior season. A lengthy (31 5/8") specimen with a 4.39 40-time and 91st-percentile Adjusted SPARQ athleticism, Henderson is at his best bodying superior talent in press coverage. The 21-year-old has freakish 4.3 percent body fat and benches 380 with a 545-pound squat and 40.5-inch vertical. Henderson is a below-average tackler and subpar at tracking the ball in the air — hence his unimpressive 10.5 yards per target allowed in 2019 — but was clearly an under performer relative to his elite traits. He has the potential to shadow star receivers at the next level but will need to return to Earth following his inexplicable step backwards in his final year.

Jaguars selected Louisiana State DE K'Lavon Chaisson with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
A two-year starting outside linebacker who was awarded the Tigers' No. 18 jersey as a player who “does all the right things” prior to the team's National Championship run, Chaisson (6’3/254) bounced back from a torn ACL in his left knee in 2018 to finish with personal bests in tackles (55), tackles for loss (13), and sacks (6.5), taking home the College Football Playoff semifinals DPoG award for his six-tackle, two-sack performance against the Sooners. He projects as a stand-up speed rusher likely to win with an elite bend and burst off the edge — similar skills he leveraged against first-round prospects Georgia OT Andrew Thomas and Texas LT Samuel Cosmi last year — at the next level. Chaisson needs development in his technique, particularly with double moves, but he offers Pro Bowl upside as a developing 21-year-old in his rookie season.

Jaguars rookie WR Laviska Shenault has impressed coaches and teammates with his route running, toughness, and sure hands.
Shenault has so far stood out in 11-on-11 drills, according to Jaguars beat writer John Reid, showing he can "fight through press coverage and run precise routes." Gardner Minshew labeled Shenault a "freak." GM Dave Caldwell said if Shenault had turned pro after this 2018 sophomore season at Colorado, he "may have been, if not the top receiver then one of the top two receivers." He was drafted by Jacksonville in this year's draft with the No. 42 pick after struggling with various injuries during his final year at Colorado. Shenault, who could quickly become the No. 2 option behind DJ Chark in Jacksonville, is not being drafted in 12-team leagues.

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said the team "couldn't get anything" in a trade for Leonard Fournette before waiving him Monday.
"We couldn't get anything, a fifth, a sixth, anything," Marrone said. "We couldn't get anything." It's pretty clear the NFL doesn't value Fournette that highly. He's averaged a pedestrian 4.0 yards per carry on 666 career totes and scored just three touchdowns on the ground last season, worst among 14 running backs with at least 20 carries inside the 10-yard line in 2019. Fournette's $4.167 million salary also certainly played a part in teams not wanting to give up any sort of compensation. It will be interesting to see what teams show interest in Fournette on the open market in the coming days and weeks.

Who is the presumptive starter now Fournette has gone? Armstead? #fantasypurposes

More targets just opened up for Chark, going to have a monster year. Both he and Minshew.

The Associated Press' Mark Long reports the Jaguars players were "tired of Leonard Fournette."
Everyone seemed to be over the Fournette experience in Jacksonville, including the front office and coaching staff. The NFL agreed with that assessment as well with the Jaguars unable to get "anything" after shopping him for the entire offseason. Fournette only was productive because of volume, not talent. He was one of the worst pass-catchers in the NFL last season and oddly couldn't convert short-yardage work into goal-line touchdowns either. Fournette will get another chance to turn things around -- maybe he just needed a change of scenery -- but tape, efficiency, and even more news reports suggest that he'll likely sign for less than $4 million annually, assuming he goes unclaimed on waivers. His path to touches will be tied to whichever team signs him. Expect reports of who that will be to come out today and tomorrow.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports free agent Leonard Fournette has filed a grievance against the Jaguars to recoup his $4.167 million salary for 2020.
The Jags voided the remainder of Fournette's guarantees after the league gave him a one-game suspension in 2018. The fight has been ongoing ever since. It was an expansive reading of the rules by the Jags, as Fournette's suspension was not drug, steroid or off-the-field related, but rather for punching Shaq Lawson. It is unclear how an arbiter might eventually rule.

The Jaguars listed Dede Westbrook with the third-team offense on their Week 1 depth chart.
It seems Westbrook has completely fallen out of favor in Jacksonville, as he's listed behind D.J. Chark, Chris Conley, rookie Laviska Shenault, and Keelan Cole. Chark and Conley should open the year on the outside with Shenault in the slot. Westbrook is off the map for redraft leagues, and his Dynasty stock is at an all-time low.

The Jaguars listed James Robinson as the starting running back on their Week 1 depth chart.
Devine Ozigbo is the RB2, and pass-catching specialist rounds out the depth chart as the RB3. Overall, we shouldn't read too much into this, as interns typically handle these types of things on official team websites, but there's no doubt the Jaguars have really liked what they've seen from the undrafted rookie Robinson this summer. All three backs are expected to see snaps and touches in the Week 1 opener against the Colts. Robinson would appear to be the best bet for fantasy production.

Whether we win or lose this game in the last 6 mins I can say this after these first 2 games.

Minshew is 100% the real deal.
Robinson is 100% the real deal(deadset night and day between his vision and Fournette's)
Shenault Jr. 100% the real deal.

Our safeties are 100% not the real deal.

Got rid of the big heads and the team looks so much better without them so far.

Jaguars released K Stephen Hauschka.
Signed at the end of September, Hauschka's time was clearly up after he whiffed on two field goal tries on back-to-back drives that would have given the Jaguars a 13-7 lead at the half. Jon Brown, already Jacksonville's fifth kicker this year, was promoted to the active roster in a corresponding move.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports sixth-round rookie Jake Luton is expected to start in place of Gardner Minshew (thumb, out) for Week 9 against the Texans.
Luton will receive the starter's reps at practice and get the nod over journeyman Mike Glennon. Coach Doug Marrone also noted that Minshew isn't guaranteed to get his job back when/if he returns this year. Luton (6'6/224) started in 20 of 23 career games for the Beavers, joining Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Fields as one of only three FBS quarterbacks with 21-plus touchdown passes and three or fewer interceptions in 2019, but Luton only completed 35.8 percent of his passes under pressure in three years at Oregon State. This move is nothing more than a ploy to pin the blame on someone other than the coaching staff, who are just nine games away from inevitably being cut loose this offseason.
