Really and look what was under your noses the whole time back then....

77 players were drafted in 2016. The last 2 years have been 59 and 65. This year is predicted to have some of the worst depth ever. picks in the 50s and 60s aren't going to make a rats arse of difference to the guy you pick. You'll have someone in mind and you'll get them whether with the picks you already had or the ones you just got.

So in summary. Some other guy said you wouldn't get anymore than x, you got x + a 2 trash picks that neither team will use, they thought it was worth flexing over the guy because they're a w***er, and when it was pointed out how much of a w***er they were, you're now pointing to some guy you picked up with the pick 6 years ago as though this is somehow another flex. The even funnier thing is you think we actually give a toss about graham. He was a budget option after Dunkley rejected us and before JHF wanted to come home. You're like the other Richmond w***ers who come into every thread and starts out by saying 'does anyone want to talk about Richmond'.

The picks are nothing of note, but they give us a few options.
1) Try to package them up for a pick in the 40s.
2) Try and package them for a future 2nd/3rd
3) Take a punt on 2 sliders that drift out of the 2nd round, or on players with potential but with flaws.

That's fine, that's not the criticism. One of your posters was acting smug towards someone that said Richmond wouldn't get anymore and trying to throw it up in his face. I mean, yeah pick 50+60 is something, but it's about as close to nothing as you can get.

I actually doubt you will get any of the first 2 options. Picks in that range will be worth so little this year in terms of which player is picked. If only 55 players are picked, pick 60 is last, pick 100 is last. The picks for points have largely been done, so a fistful of picks for a slightly better pick probably won't happen either. option 3 doesn't really add up because pick 53 and 60 will likely involve you taking guys you would have at 80,90,100 whatever (all those picks will end up being 55-60) because there is no consensus later in the draft. Everyone will have a different project player so the likelihood of you getting someone different with the pick is low.

At the end of the day it looks like GWS were never going to use those picks, so Richmond asked for them on the off chance they are useful. It's not really a 'you said we wouldn't get any more but we did, so you're a big dumb dumb' worthy event.

Yeah good luck with that
We have a good young group of players coming through. Hopper and Taranto are perfect age to help transition the older group out. We've hit the draft every year over the dynasty and only traded in Tarrant since 2016.

Comparisons to hawks are an ill-informed one.

You come in all Pidgeon chested for no reason other than to blame others for missed picks. In 2016 pick 32 Joe Atley Win:$ 2020 pick 49 Ollie Lord Win:$

Which ones have come on?
Sonsie, Cumberland, Clarke, Ralphsmith, Gibcus, MRJ, Miller all less than 20 games and look like very good - elite players.

Brown, Ryan, Banks, Bauer all yet to debut look promising.

Taranto, Hopper, Graham, Rioli, Balta, Baker, Bolton all 25 or under and core players.

Nothing like Hawks profile of 2015.

Mate give up the troll
If you’re talking draftees since 2016

Balta and Bolton are stars
Baker has come on leaps and bounds and would be a lock in any team in the comp.
Graham is a beauty and a future captain.
Throw in Pickett who’s won 2 flags and a beauty on the wing.
Miller and Ross finished in our best 22 come finals time. Our drafting is going fine

Add in Gibcus, Sonsie, Cumberland and Rioli jnr who all showed a heap this year and our young crop is going more then fine! Add in Ralphsmith, Dow, Clarke, Brown, Banks and Sampson Ryan who could be anything show that the future looks pretty good.

The only regret in that period would be losing Stengle who’s turned into a star, pair him up with Bolton and Rioli jnr and we’d be scary.
We’ve whiffed on first rounders but we do our best work from the second round onwards. Carlton could learn a thing or two rather then trying to trade your way out of your draft flops year in year out

Only Bolton could be considered close to elite of all of those names.

Isn't Marlon Pickett like 30 years old?

Did you miss Marshall, Drew, and SPP in 2016(+Ladhams in the rookie draft) or Lachie Jones in 2020? I am sure that was accidental.
