It's not about comparing players RangaInTeal. I happen to think Graham Johncock at his best is a gun footballer. Like all players his form can be punctuated at times too. Roger Hayden has gone largely unnoticed for the greater duration of his AFL career and I happen to think he's been an outstanding footballer. This is about recognizing talent for what it is, not berating players because of personal stupidity and club bias.

Not everyone can win personal awards every year. That doesn't devalue their contributions to their respective sides. Tyson Edwards was my favourite Crows player and he has no personal accolades of note. Enough said there.

Agree 100%

lol.

Not every players needs accolades to be rated. Surjan is a good reliabe, solid defender who plays his role. Probably won't ever get a B & F or AA but he can still be remembered as a decent footballer.

Decent is fine. No way is he a "gun defender" though.

If he doesn't get a B&F this year on current form I have lost even more faith in the coaches than I thought I had.

So how are you telling us he is not a gun?

Here's one of Surjan's scalps that I found interesting.
Round 11 - Hawthorn - Cyril Rioli - 14 touches, 2 marks, 1 goal.
The very next week Rioli had 27 touches, 7 marks and three goals. Against who? The Crows.

Surprised me that a Crow fan can't see the need for an accountable defender.
