I am intrigued by his dropping this week.

Is he not fully fit?

Did he break some team rules?

I have been thinking back to last weeks game and the one thing I can remember is Surjan going off his tree at his team mates on a number of occassions.

I saw it was inclined to think 'good on you Surj' because quite frankly they deserved it, but did he go too far?

Did anyone else notice him going off last week? Could it be related to his dropping?

Is that a euphemism for "enraged"?
No I am genuinely intrigued because I think there must be more to the story than we have been told so far.

No doubt it will all come out soon, it always does in Adelaide. No idea why the club tries to hide it.

He has clearly NOT been dropped on form.

'oporto' in another thread suggested the ommission was related to the 'Mots/surj gf' incident last year ... could be close to the mark?
I don't know that it's all that constructive to trot out ridiculous allegations like that. I would like to see some proof or even a skerrick of logic behind such a rumour.

I'm fuming about this, and this is coming from a supporter who has generally tried to see the positive side to our season so far. I've tried to support Primus with his decisions, and generally seen the common sense of most of them but this one is a downright disgrace. For the love of Port, Surj is surely the heart and soul of this club

Listening to rhode I got the idea it was about form. Suggested he was good against crows but was subbed out as he wasn't able to run out game.

I didn't see suns game - was he subbed out ? If not - how was his last 1/4 ?

They looked Ok with each other in the first 1/4 highlights from the suns game. Didn't lots gift a goal to surge and they celebrated - my memory is going on me ....

I can't believe it...we're 'tanking' already !

Seriously though, how Hitchock can still get a game without scoring a goal all year, is beyond me.

Hopefully, Surj is under a fitness cloud and will do a late test on Sat. morning. A joke otherwise.

I don't think it has anything to do with Mots. I have been surprised how well they have worked together and celebrated together.

If its due to form or fitness, I would say have a look at O'Shea, Rodan or Hitchcock, and leave Surj in. So I think there is something they are covering up as usual. Probably knee soreness from the one that gave him trouble over the pre-season.

Yeah I paid particular attention to that. There definitely didn't seem to be any hard feeling between those two. Surj definitely gave a few others a spray though. I am just trying to remember who.

I seem to remember one argument with Chaplin on the outer wing.

I know mots got into a fight with surj at training, but that could have meant nothing. They were out together for their girlfriends to fight, so perhaps they get along quite well?

Its not impossible.

As for Surjan being dropped. ****ed if I know why, but I sure as hell hope it isn't for the reason Peter Rhode gave.

Why drop Surj? Bickering with team-mates on field? Attitude? For wanting to win? Why him and not Chaplin or Carlile or any other useless player on the field that day? If it's fitness, why not just say so? Surj is one of our most competitive players and out best small defender. Too many questions, not enough answers and certainly NOT the changes I was expecting to see vs North Melbourne.

So Lindsay Thomas doesn't count as a potential match-up?

I've just woken up to this news and would like to know how David Rodan has kept his spot in the side.

Is Matty taking the piss now?

Bizarre selection/omission.

Doesn't seem to be any more bizarre than Rohde trying to convince everyone that after only getting 40 touches in 1 game for the WWT magoo's (in a completely different position to what Port are seemingly trying) that Kane Cornes has learnt his lesson of what the Club needs of him and how they want him to play.

They should name which coach went and watched him kick the dew of the oval.

Reminds me of the situation of when PBurgoyne went back to Port to 'learn' stuff, he was at least playing in the League side.

I'm done with anything Rohde has to say or do. Dont see us going anywhere with him in charge, just ask a Bulldogs supporter how they think we'll do with him here.

Form probably isnt out of the question as he was pretty invisible in the 2nd half in defence. Didnt get much of the ball and Bennell had a good last 1/4. So whilst people are bagging Rodans selection in the side, Surj played no better than him and the week before both were good (Rodan kicked 4 and people here rated him in the top 3 on the ground). Still....its a strange decision to make unless he really isnt near 100% fitness and is struggling to run out games.
