It definitely isn't for a lack of talent. The club / coaches and him don't see eye to eye is the best way to put it.

Motlop from Geelong is an interesting prospect. I don't mind the sound of him being involved.

They seem to be getting rid of their Motlops (will have none next year) so I doubt it :D

Besides Scott likes Motlop I think.

If anyone was to be traded West is probably who they would ask for I'd say.

Done? That's not certain at all. That would be somewhere that you would think about beginning discussions not consummating the trade itself.

Lycett is untouchable. NicNat and Lycett are going to terrorize the AFL for a decade after Cox retires.

How's Simon Buckley getting a game at Collingwood when he couldn't get one at Melbourne?

I'm not sure that we would be looking to trade any of our under 22 players (unless they wanted out I guess). Our second rounder may fall anywhere between the low and high 30's depending on the finish to the year and I'd happily give it up for Surjan. Would also be happy to swap our 3rd rounder for Ports 4th if that helped get the deal across the line.
 
To anyone from Geelong: How far out of the park would I be to suggest something like Surjan + Third Rounder for Motlop + Second Rounder?

You're not losing much with so many players ahead of Motlop and we upgrade a pick a leetle bit.

You realise both your 3rd and our second will be in the mid 40's? (so swap doesn't really seem necessary).

As regards your question, it would depend on the contract price. If not a lot then I'd do that deal, yes.

It would be an incredibly stupid notion if Brad Ebert wanted to go back to Adelaide to get a quality player in return and upgrade your 2nd round draft pick by potentially 14 places whilst keeping your 1st round draft pick as a starting point to talk deals wouldn't it?
 
It really goes to show how little interest and knowlage SOME people have outside their own state, of other peoples football clubs. And then happy to sprout off rubbish on here.

The only reason he isnt getting a game is because there is obvious friction with him and the current coach.

EASILY in our best 22, in our top 10 to 15 if i was naming names.
Coming into his prime. Gives leadership, tough as nails and still contracted.

If i had it my way he'd be playing and defiantly a required player for next year. But politics etc etc strikes again.
Who ever ends up with him wont be disapointed and we will be on the loosing side of it.
My prefered option is used to have a crack at the mini draft

I get the frustration and agree that it's farsical that he's not in your team at the moment. I get the feeling you may be right though that you'll be on the losing side of any trade considering the rumblings that he wants out.
 
If Callan Ward winds up re-signing with the Dogs and we end up losing Easton Wood to GWS (quite a distinct possibility), I think the Dogs would be interested in a small defender.

Not sure what we could offer - Josh Hill and a third rounder maybe?

A lot of people underrate Minson. He is a very good tap ruckman (just has to work on his taps to advantage) and he can go forward. With Port's lowish ruck stocks, I would think they would be interested in that trade. Minson is the perfect age for a ruckman atm as well.

I do admit we may have to add in something else as well though.

What would a Port supporter suggest they would want from us for Surjan?
 
because brogan and lade were dominant ruckmen no-one ever saw us resort to our next few rucks on our list, therefore it is now assumed after they've left we have no rucks. lobbe has shown this year he has a future. already better than minson and can improve on that, not to mention that bass and redden as prospects look interesting and at worst will be minson like, at best will far eclipse anything anyone expects from minson.

as for surj he has made comments on twitter that would suggest that its all bs and will remain at port. i find that surprising though as i cant see why he hasnt played at all this year unless he is leaving, or why he wouldnt want to leave to play more elsewhere? could be a fitness thing as there were concerns there after his op but should be back on board now. primus has said that logan was handed surj's spot and done more than enough to keep it, surely we can find a spot for surj too?? maybe primus isnt a big fan i guess. who knows we can only guess but if he did go it would be one decent 22 player out the remuneration should be about the same .. a decent 22 player.

Fair enough. Not sure if Dogs will trade Minson this trade period, Hudson is coming to the end of his career, and Roughead and Cordy still have a way to go before they can be the number 1 ruck at the club. After those 2 we have no other rucks.

Hill will most likely be shopped around, but there is no way that Hill for Surjan is fair on Port, so my guess is that if Port were interested, it'd be Hill plus a pick.
