That's great, but Adelaide don't have a pick between 18 to 25. I don't disagree that Jacobs is worth that, I'm just saying that in a buyer's market you're unlikely to get that. Unless St. Kilda or someone throw their hat into the ring (FWIW, if I was in power at the Saints I'd be willing to give up their first rounder for Jacobs).

It'll be pick 14. Anyway, what on Earth has this got to do with you? Are you anticipating a Port-Crows merge?

:)

I'd be happy to bet anything you like that you won't get pick 14 unless pick 18 or Walker goes the other way.

And I'm interested because I was pushing for Jacobs to go to Port. Now that he's not anymore, I'm still interested to see where he ends up and how for much.

Well Greg Swan and Icke disagree with you. They've said pick 14 or no deal. Seems Walker won't go, Sellar has been rejected, a pick 14-18 swap has been rejected, and a 2nd round pick rejected. They're prepared to block the trade. It's not a bluff. The Crows have a few days to re-consider, failing that other Clubs will be involved. Love the strong (but fair) stance our great club is taking.

Lol. With the possible exception of the second round pick, absolutely none of that stuff happened.

Just like Richmond were in the box seat for Judd, Warnock was going to end up in the PSD and we weren't going to get adequate compensation for fevola hey.

Yep, happens every trade week. Eventually the regional teams blink and do what they're told after a little bit of huffing and puffing. Same deal this year.

:)

Spoke to Brett Ratten at dinner in Canberra tonight and he was quite clear without being at all arrogant - Jacobs for Adelaide's pick 14 or PSD which equals Richmond. Otherwise stay at Carlton where respected & required.

Thanks mate. :thumbsu:

Sounds reasonable enough.

Pick 14 is actually a pretty reasonable deal for the Crows. He's a ready-made quality 22 yo ruck. Very low risk. He ain't a project player. He'll provide impact from day 1 next season.

Well it's up to them. I'm really not too fussed either way. If he stays, then fine. It's their loss. Anyway, all the Crows supporters seem absolutely delighted with Sellar's progress in the SANFL reserves, so perhaps they can play Sellar as their #1 ruck in 2011.

Not true....a number of the 17 year olds could quite easily have gone early....Josh Toy would be top 5 for a start. Hine, Shaw and McKenzie would be right up there with good seasons in the TAC, along with May if he chose to nominate for the ND, Matera as well
actually vader is right. according to a couple of recruiters this draft is still ok. obviously it would have been much better with the dozen 17 year olds still in it, but they are gone and who knows, a few of the kids still in it may turn out to be better than the others already taken. early picks sometimes turn out to be duds....???:D

If this us true... this is the exact stance I hope we'd make... not to get pick 14... but to keep Jacobs... I'd prefer Jacobs who is a guarantee than a gamble which is pick 14 in a draft with half the talent pool already gone...

great !!

so if adelaide dont want to get rid of 14 he walks !!
jacobs can put 400k per year on his head & all of richmond, essendon, adelaide, port will take him
because he doesnt cost a draft pick, dont really think carlto want to be paying their 3rd & 4th rucks that sort of cash.

its silly season & alot of bluffing going on,

from what i have been hearing, carlton wants pick 14 but will exchange pick 18 for it along with jacobs and sellar. apparently carlton wants to use pick 14 to give brisbane for brennan. that is what i saw on the her-sun website the other day. i am sure carlton and the crows will work out something that suits them both. especially if they want walker as well !!!

i say that you are wrong parrot. why would carlton get sellar over for a fitness test, if they did`nt want him??? i think you will find it`s a swap of pick 14 for pick 18. time will tell, but they are playing poker right now !!!
