Well that means Jacobs is going elsewhere. Adelaide won't give up pick 14, Carlton won't do it for a second rounder.

Whats their second round pick, mid 30's?

If Tambling is worth that then Jacobs is worth 14. I get the feeling Talia will be involved now.

Their last offer was a mid 30 pick for Jacobs!! To make matters worse, they decided to commit to using the Compo pick on Tambling!!!!

Who's their list manager? Bizarre stuff.

:)

I'd say they are rolling the dice on Jacobs making it through to them via the PSD. What's the order of picks before Adelaide?

Both Jacobs and Grigg are uncontracted. Walker is contracted.

Grigg could slip to the Tiges in the PSD.... maybe. But there's zero chance of Jacobs slipping to the Cows. Weagles, Bleakmond, Dees, Retreads, and Essendon all have a PSD pick ahead of them.

:)

Jacobs is contracted - Grigg is free to walk.

From the 3000 other posts I read (that may be a slight exaggeration :D) the gist was that we could lose Jacobs to another club for nothing if we played hardball with picks too much? You can't nominate for the PSD under contract...:confused:

Follow InsiderAFL, that's BIB.

He said that St Kilda have entere the race and are looking to better Adelaide's offer to snatch him.

Yeh I saw that, good source of info :thumbsu:

My bet:

Grigg > Richmond
Pick 31 > Carlton

Jacobs > St. Kilda
Pick 24 > Carlton

Pick 54 > West Coast
McKinley >Carlton

End Result:

ND Picks:
18, 24, 31, 38,

In: McKinley

Out: Jacobs, Grigg, Wiggins, Fisher, Anderson

Eagles - Unlikely
Richmond - Unlikely
Melbourne - Possible but want Hale
Retreads ??? Who TF?
Essendon - Likely as they just delisted Laycock

Add in a first rounder for Walker from Port. That's 3 inside 25. BTW there's rumours of McKinley going to North. We should do very well out of this. Basically, if Crows want to get back involved, they'll have to trump the Saints (for Jacobs) and trump Port (for Walker).

Richmond - unlikely??? There's no way on Earth they'd let Sammy slip. Retreads situation depends on if Mitch Clarke gets back to WA or not. Dons would definitely pick him up. Dees would take him in a heartbeat. Hale is more of a forward than a ruck.

WOW, that's pretty uninspiring!

I hope we piss these Crow muppets and their 45 untouchables off. I would much rather deal with the Saints or Geelong as we are more likely to get a decent player in return.

Wait wait wait wait...

Sam Jacobs - October 2009, 2 yr.................2011
As updated in the List Status thread.

This makes sense to me.

We took Sam Jacobs with Pick 72 in last years National Draft.

All National Draftees have a minimum of 2 year contracts.

Sam's #1 objective is being first ruck.

Crowmagnons don't seem to understand that. They seem to think that the lure of that city is irresistible. No, Sam wants to be first ruck.

There are two big advantages in Sam going to the Saints:

1. The Saints are likely to better Adelaide offer by a significant amount

2. While we are getting ready for our tilt at the flag, he can hopefully help the Saints to beat the Filth next year. Much in the same way we seconded Goddard to aid that cause.

Serious question, no intention of being antagonistic or doing this ping pong shit, but, where do the saints find all this cap room? How can they offer more?

And how is Jacobs #1 ruck at the Saints? They've invested their time into McEvoy, who's a very very good prospect. And that's if Gardiner hangs the boots up as well. In addition to that, Stanley and Lynch are developing to play #2 ruck roles and if Kosi can't play #2 ruck.....they've duck a 3 year contract of rubbish.

Saints go in with McEvoy and Kozi, after Gards retires and when one of the young 2 come on they can give Kosi the arse. I just can't see JAcobs fitting there, especially considering the emphasis on being #1 ruck. That's not to say he'd not fit at other clubs though.

Harper said the club was committed to a second trade, but that it wouldn't involve Walker.

"We'll bow out of the race for Andrew Walker now. We've told his management that because obviously we can't do them all," he said.

"We'll just try and focus on what we can do with (Carlton ruckman) Sam Jacobs and try and avoid him going into the pre-season draft."

Jacobs wants to join Adelaide, though Harper described Carlton's demand for a first-round draft pick as "unreasonable".

"Sam won't be re-signing with Carlton," Harper said.

"We've put something to Carlton and we're still talking to them about that. We'll see what happens … we're hoping that common sense prevails in the end."
So you can all stop mentioning that as a possibility.

It still is a possibility, you see if he goes to the PSD you have teams Richmond, Essendon and Melbourne who are also after a quality ruckman, so the danger is he won't make it to the Crows.

Now if your Jacobs do you risk that or sign up with the Blues again??

Don't trust what a manager says, they are just trying to scare Carlton into accepting an unreasonable trade.

Time to step up Crows....teams like StKilda are circling!!
