I agree. I think we lost leverage when Jacobs declared Adelaide as his preferred destination. It would have been better if had both Port Adelaide and Adelaide fighting over Jacobs.
Somehow I don't think the threat of the PSD is that strong or would be used by Carlton as it would be a bigger loss for Carlton (to gain nothing and lose a player like Jacobs) and just a missed opportunity for Adelaide (who could look at other ruck options with their trade offer). There would only be one winner in this scenario WCE or Richmond or $uns.
Throwing Walker into the mix helps a bit but I still think Adelaide has the upper hand.
That is what I am afraid of as well.
Adelaide definitely has the upper hand as Jacobs is uncontracted.
