Beg to differ, 2010 stats don't lie.

Sellar may turn out to be a good player, but this would be a speculative trade at best.
He was injured most of this year and yeah he would be a speculative trade but so is jacob's right? I'm just saying 2-3 yrs ago most supporters thought that hes got no chance, but now you look at him and think he understands what it takes and many people were expecting a breakout year this season but then he got injured. He'd be a much better get than symes who is not going to improve.

What on Earth has he done to make you think that?

Seems to me he's clearly regressed in the last season. Can probably put that down to injury but Adelaide supporters are overrating him something massive.

Then again, might be in a similar position to Austin, who I rate but has struggled with injury and form this season.

Please tell me how Jacobs is speculative when he's had multiple solid performances at AFL level and has better stats than Maric (i.e. your number one ruckman) despite being a backup ruck?

Have asked the same of many Crows supporters but silence and deflection is the only reply I've gotten thus far.

Sellar is a dud. Has no stand out qualities and looks lost every time he plays at AFL level.

I don't see Jacobs as being a long term answer for the Crows or for any team but you'd still feel pretty ripped off if you got Sellar alone in return.

I think Adelaides 2nd pick and Sellar will get the deal done. Carlton will take a chance and try to turn his career around, but it's very hard to see Sellar having a long AFL career.

devestated he wants to be traded back home.....
dont know why he would want to play in a non finals team ? I think we could have given him more game time....

I think we probably will only get a second round pick. I believe in this draft he would be a first rounder considering the GC draft picks taking the top 15 odd players.

If other clubs are interested that might change his mind. His preference is adelaide however hasnt ruled out port or any other clubs.... I reacon adelaide has offered him a good contract and will get no 1 ruck role which he wouldnt get at the blues.....

I guess the go home factor would also win.

That said do not want to loose walker either ..... very fast damaging player...
I dont think we would get what he is worth to us if we traded him.....

Well hes not a proven player hes still a talent. If hes a proven player then you should be getting a 1st round pick but i doubt he is, i've only seen him play against an injured mumford when he did quite well but thats only one game.

Jacobs is definitely not a speculative trade - Craig knows it and so does Rendell who knows a good ruckman when he sees one.

Sellar on the other hand is anyone's guess.

If the rumours about seller coming over for a medical are true I think seller + 2nd round is what we will end up with. If swan is as good as they say we might get the bock pick instead. Maybe bringing seller over will give a boost to Austin.....

Err.. So you've only seen him play one game? Not sure you're really qualified to talk about Sam and his worth?

To say that Jacobs isnt proven is a bit of a stretch..... He has played in the ANTS final series and dominated. He played very well in all the games he played for Carlton including a elimination final against sydney in which hes tap work was first rate.... He is a young up and comming ruckman. Ruckman take years to develop and Adelaide if successful are getting a ready made player ready to take that next step....

Im not sure Adelaide have anything for us in return of equal value......

Predictably, you answered with deflection. He's averaged better stats across the season than Maric has, even when you omit the Sydney game. How's he unproven?

adelaide's compo pick will be around pick 20-26 theres no way in the world you could let him go into the psd just to go up 6-10 places. you know that crowas know that & jacobs knows that. it will get done & its a fair result

Mods why are we allowing this low life to post in here with that trolling sig...opposition supporters need to realise it is a priveldge to be allowed onto our board, and scum like this should be kept out.

So you are making a judgement after only seeing him play one game ??

Or you are saying he has only played one good game ?

either way you are making a complete fool of yourself.

Not quite. We have the PSD card up our sleaves, so we'll at least be able to force a low 20's type pick situation since the Crows have no hope of getting him via the PSD.

That depends on whether the Crows are willing to give up a low 20's pick for him. You never know, they could just decide not to bother with him. There's nothing forcing them to trade with Carlton. I personally think Jacobs is worth a low 20's pick, but I'm just some guy on the Internet.

The clubs just confirmed jacob's wants a trade to Adelaide, what do you think we should demand in return. Good luck to sammy as well i suppose it was inevitable, but it is sad to loose him.

Im shattered, Hampson should be traded and Jacobs should have played every game this year. He's a gun who's gona come back to bite us. Consider these stats.

GAMES D - HO T CP DE% CLG

Kruezer- 13- 159 239 65 75 72.33 20

Jacobs- 13- 146 286 83 70 82.43 25

Warnock-12 - 124 218 27 74 70.97 21

Hampson- 8- 57 104 19 33 61.40 22

If you try to average out Hampsons games to 13 he's a dud (even if you doubled all his stats) Jacob smashes him almost everwhere. Just over half of Hampsons disposals were clangers and that is what i saw in his 8 games. The selectors for our weekly team are idiots and a discrace. No wonder he wants to leave, what more could this guy do to cement his place in this team. Can't wait for Rattern to go (luved him as a player), he can't coach and does not have the confidence of more than half the team. He's the problem at the Blues and unfortunately I doubt we will improve our position next season because no mater which players we get; we are stuck with his poor relationship with the players
Imagine what we could have achieved is they didnt keep selecting Walker over Thornton. Imagine if there was player/coach harmony.
Good riddance to Walker, happy to supply any of you with his pathetic stats too.
Ps in an earlier post I said that Walker may have taken 3 contested marks, I stand corrected it was 4.

Rattern pull your head in, make amends with Thornton, Grigg and any other player you use your punitive methods on.

Before you all carry on about those two (especially Thornton), get your stats first and see what a jerk Ratten has been to another guy from our Rookie list. He is needed at our club.
Blues would have been better off doing business with WC cause at least we could get Mickynley and Spanger. Both have shown that they can play and might just do it at a melbourne based club where they will obviously settle better.

I hope Grigg doesnt go, that would be the nail in the coffin.

General consensus is that Carlton posters are very disappointed to lose Jacobs whereas it seems that Adelaide posters are not unhappy to see Sellars go - which is probably an indicator of the relative value of both players.

If Sellars is useless, then trading Jacobs for Sellar and the Bock compo (pick 28) is not really that great. Maybe Port Adelaide can jump in and offer us something better and satisfy Jacobs as well - now that would make it interesting.

Disappointed but certainly not suprised. I just hope that we can get adequate compensation.

I think youre underestimating Sellar.

I could see him developing into a very good CHB. Has all the tools, huge frame, is not slow and has a great attitude.

We already have Davis locked in for CHB for the next 10 years, and our key forwards are locked in with Tippett and Walker so although its disappointing to lose Sellar, gaining Jacobs fulfills one of our crucial needs.

have heard a rumour that we are keen on sellar which made me sick tbh i would love for us to nick Talia which may have been made easier wuth the emergance of phil davis. second for mine would be mckernan (how ever you spell it) both these deals would possibly have to be sweatened but those should be our prime targets

I have heard Talia supported the blues as a kid, would be great to get a few players who had a youth carlton connection. Snap him up before he is adelaide-ised completely haha.

Meh!

We have Warnock, Kreuzer and the Hammer. I wish Sauce the best of luck but if we can get a future FF or Backman for him and maybe an inside mid with the pick we get its probably for the best.
