If Carlton were after Sam Jacobs we would not give up pick 14 for him.

Pick 18 + Jacobs
for
Pick 14 and Bock pick.

This is the only trade I can see that would keep both teams happy.

Yet we've seen Brisbane give up Hendo AND pick 12 for a PROVEN 99 goal a year player, Jolly go to Sydney for pick 15, T.Croad go to Freo for pick 1.
Small technical correction.

After yesterday's torture, I'd throw some doubt on Sammy's homecoming. Jolly destroyed McEvoy and Kosi. So if any team challenging for a flag needs a ruckman, it's St Kilda.

Sign a lucrative 3 year contract, Sam. You can still return to SA by the time you're 26 and with a premiership medal. :)

St Kilda's first round (pick 24) and Tom Lynch enough to get the job done?

Swan has said pick 14 about 4 times, Icke has said pick 14 on at least 2 occasions, and even Ratten said it on 1 occasion.

Rendell had a chance to say no to pick 14 today, but didn't. And even said we were being fair.

Want another chance to spin Rendell's comments into alignment with your hopes?

:)

Sorry spinparrot, "behind the shed" isn't publicly.

But keep trying - this spin was a little offbase!

So you're part of the Swans medical department and "in the know" about these things?

No, but it was well covered in the news.

Yeah and you keep resorting to "that's, unfortunately, not how trading works". Yet we've seen Brisbane give up Hendo AND pick 12 for a PROVEN 100 goal a year player, Jolly go to Sydney for pick 15, T.Croad go to Freo for pick 1. If those picks were guaranteed stars why would clubs give them up when they would have 10 plus year careers for older guys?

ALL draft picks are based on potential and EVERY club has that in mind when dealing with them. Pick 14 is a bigger gamble for us than Jacobs is for you because Jacobs has PROVEN ability at AFL level and is only going to get better with more experience whereas pick 14 could turn out to be an injury prone or dud player.

Wow! Comparing Jacobs to Fevola, Jolly and Croad...and trying to call him PROVEN!

Cracking laughs! :D

It is a fact, GC have taken a lot of talent out of this draft and if those players were available, then the guys that are going to be drafted at pick 14, would be drafted later on because those other talented players would push them back to around the 20's somewhere.

As I said - that's your opinion, not reality. Drafts don't work like that. There is not an agreed list of the most talented.

Keep screaming though.

The Saints would be bonkers not to want Sammy. Put him on a 2-3 year and all they have to do is get the older lads to go around once again (more motivation this time), Hell i'll throw in Anderson who is quick, which is what they need

You fail to realise he wants to go to Adelaide, not the Saints.

Jacobs won't agree.

Nope I realize that, read it again.

Never said anything about the Saints getting Jacobs, said they would be bonkers not to want to

This deal is probably quite likely. Its really the only medium possible between pick 14 and Bock pick.

Tuesday, please come.

Not only will we be at the biggining of the end of this stuff, but it will take away some of the Collingwood bullshit.

Swan also said that Grigg will stay and Walker is more than happy to stay :o

To start with it's Swann, we took the real one from Collingwood and left the shit one there. You just had a shot at Tanks_Alot for only getting info off BigFooty but if you're writing things like that it's obvious you're doing the same.

Walker is happy to stay, particularly as he understands his contract situation and Grigg had everyone at the best & fairest count believing that he was staying before he ran off to Thailand and got his manager to do his dirty work. No way Swann could've predicted a low act like that. Have a look at Swann's track record and then see how much of a goose you look knocking his credibility.

If we only had one ruckman such as Maric on our list, I think we would consider trading pick 18 to get a 22 year old ruckman. ;)

Pick 14 isn't a pot of gold compared to pick 18.

Agree, this is the most likely outcome if no other players or clubs are involved in the trade, I think it's equitable to both clubs

this:thumbsu: - but i doubt you'll get even 1 trade on Tuesday

There could be this year. Considering Ablett is already done, I think the trades will flow a bit easier. Sauce to Crows would probably be one of the first to get done too, because it sounds like most of the negotiation has already been done.

Maybe you should take his poster off your wall and realise he doesn't always get what he wants.

Brock McLean for pick 11 - what an absolute, gold-standard crackup! :D:thumbsu:

Look lets agree the boys stuffed that up as no team would of picked him up for a pick inside the top 20

Pick 12 - Kane Lucas & Lachie Henderson :thumbsu: :D

Once again we thank Michael Voss :p

Still too early too call IMO.

Brock was picked up to help Judd out. Considering Brock was out for pretty much the whole season and Judd still won the brownlow. Imagine how much better Judd can be if Brock gets fit.

Yeah, we should have picked up a tall in Talia to get another Andrejs Everitt who is a flanker in a KPP's body.

Wait!

That was your great club who went that way after picking Davis, McKernan and Young in the 2008 draft.

FAITH thinks you had Davis ranked at two in the 2008 draft.

Rendell is looking for another Sellar.
