let's not forget adelaide are playing hardball too, which surely is fair if we can. this is how it presumably all starts out, until both sides meet in the middle. had rischitelli and bradshaw initially agreed to come to carlton would we be talking up our people?

He probably would have beaten Jolly in the hit outs cat (though lets not forget Jolly has had over 50 ho's in a game too. Say they break even. Having watched Jolly abuse McEvoy by going forward....he'd get away from Sauce easier. Why's he's valuable to us? He'd beat Maric just as much (little less) around the ground, but would break the ho's.

I just don't think the Saints would be red hot for him. Keen yeah sure, but 1Mil? dunno. With Mac and Kosi, they probably don't want to get too much slower.

We'll work a deal. We've shown no desire to threaten with the PSD, in fact the opposite. May take a while, but I say we pound out a deal.

IMO, Saints would be upto there eyeballs in the Jacobs trade for the following reasons-

1. McEvoy was dropped for first final so they don't really rate him.

2. Kosi has to play forward but i suggest next year will rotate through the ruck because of new intercap.

3. Stanley is ok but still to light to play ruck in a gf side and would not take the defender away from roo like kosi would in the forward line.

4. Next inline is Pattison, need i say more...

and finally light framed rucks may work if your a side out of the eight but flag contenders need rucks who won't be moved, Sammy stood up in a final and got the job done so if Gardener goes they will be into him because they have to be, that simple. pick 24 is nothing to a side who desperatley want a flag and they will trade it if Gardener retires.

My point still stands.

Jacobs has to state the terms of the contract he is seeking prior to nominating for the PSD, if he doesn't happen to get traded during trade week or nominate for the ND.

If other clubs have the cap room to accomodate a $500k payment for the first year why wouldn't they do so, especially knowing that they'd only have to pay him $250k for the following two years.

There is no way around this. What's going to stop the Gold Coast from picking him up in the PSD, or Richmond, Essendon, or even Melbourne for that matter if he lasts that long - all of whom have a pick before Adelaide. I will say if he goes into the PSD, it's almost guaranteed that the GC would pick him up. What reasons do they have not to pick him? They have a TON of cap room with all of the kids they have on their list.

So let me get this straight, Cows supporters are saying they way overpaid for Tambling deliberately in order to do a "secret deal" with Richmond whereby they'll overlook Jacobs. So I guess they'll do similar trades with the Dees and Dons so that they'll overlook Jacobs as well. This is hilarious.

I have to admit, I didn't realize how stupid the crows and their supporters were before this trade. Anyway, seems like Sammy is off to the Saints, and Walker to Port. Port really shafted the crows nicely it seems. Played it well - didn't say much, and sat back and waited for the crows to shoot themselves in the foot. As soon as they agreed to the Tambling trade they pounced. Crows are stuck with a frighten half-back flanker and a C-grade ruck division, and a poor midfield. A total disaster.

The following is a rumour and i know there is a board for that but thought since i was here I'd just let fly:

My mates source ( who gave us the judd info 2 weeks early and won me 4 slabs ) just said everything has gone quiet on Brennan and GC because he has nominated Carlton( which is why GC said they would more then likley not be active in trade week no matter what is reported about 2.4M offers and also why Ratten said at the Brownlow his goal for trade week was to get some one who could go forward and back if needed), Carlton are trying to get 2 low to mid first rounds through jacobs and Walker Example: 14 and 16 so they can on trade to Brisbane and that the blues are hoping to walk away from trade week with Brennan and a low second round and of course our later trades.

I have never met him but he always seems to be in the know, I was hoping we could keep 18 but some how think this will be used in securing the lower picks.
