out of curiousity, is it a common thing for players to not end up at their nominated club via the psd? i'm sure there is some examples but i don't think it's too common. they generally seem to end up where they want to go.

this tambling trade has really put the cat amongst the pigeons
there are 2 ways carlton can play this & will be interesting how they will go,if they decide to play hardball & send jacobs into the psd (provided he does decide to nominate & not accept another club)
there is really only 1 club that will take jacobs & thats richmond......

what about with our supposed cash, we offered to chip into the contract to prise pick 14 out of their hands? pretty much did the same with fev...
I don't know much about Jacobs but West Coast delisted their backup ruckman last week in Sullivan. So I think they are looking for another ruck in case Cox/Nait go down. Not sure he would slide past the eagles pick. No chance of him coming west if he doesn't want to live here though, no chance at all.
It'll be interesting then to see how they work out travel arrangments with Jacobs from Adelaide. Could be quite costly for the Eagles. It'll also be interesting to see how they deal with Jacobs front ended contract too, when he'll only be a 3rd ruckman over there, won't make the other players happy. Decisions, decisions.I doubt he would sit out of football for a yr.. if u draft him u will get him

Even your own joke of an official said your salary cap space is VERY tight, thanks to the huge contract you gave Tambling of all people. So you have ZERO chance of getting Jacobs in the PSD. If we lose Jacobs to Weagles or Bleakmond, it doesn't effect us at all, because he's a backup ruck i.e. not in our best 22. However if the cows go into season 2011 with their current ruck crisis, you won't be close to being competitive. What about Cam Cloke in the PSD? Might be a better match for you strange little sa club. Decisions, decisions.

That's still a 1mill+ 3 year contract for a useless footballer. Way overpaid.

Oh goodness me. I'll spell this out for you, word by word. ADELAIDE WENT INTO THIS TRADE PERIOD LOOKING FOR AN OUTSIDE MID WITH LEG SPEED. OUR RUCK STOCKS, WHILE NOT BRILLIANT, AREN'T A HUGE WORRY FOR US AT THE MOMENT. WE NEVER WENT INTO TRADE WEEK LOOKING FOR RUCKMEN, THE FACT JACOBS DECLARED HIS WISHES TO RETURN HOME TO US WAS A BONUS. IF, AND THAT IS A BIG IF, HE WERE TO GO INTO THE PSD, PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME CASES OF PLAYERS NOT GETTING TO THE CLUB OF THEIR CHOICE THROUGH THAT DRAFT? AND WITH A FRONT LOADED CONTRACT ON HIS HEAD (LIKELY IF HE WERE TO GO INTO THE PSD), THEN A CLUB WITH TWO/THREE FIRST CHOICE RUCKS ALREADY WOULD NEVER IN THEIR RIGHT MIND PICK HIM UP. A classic case is Ball last year going through the ND. Unlike Carlton, some of the clubs actually stay within the salary cap, instead of rorting it.Even your own joke of an official said your salary cap space is VERY tight, thanks to the huge contract you gave Tambling of all people. You do realise Goodwin and Mcleod were on the veterans list last year, which is outside of the cap? Edwards was also on lower wages than normal, along with Burton and Hentschel. The only free space has come from Bock's defection, which has already been used in a few of our younger player's contracts (a primary example is Knights) and upgrading a couple of rookies. The salary cap is quite complicated, not the chalk and cheese clowns like yourself seem to think it is.ROFL Yep confirmed on radio they cannot even afford Walker as salary cap super tight.
OMFG a team in decline missing the 8 has a full salary cap.
Warned? If Carlton supporters stop posting on our board, I'll stop here, I've said that all along. Maybe come and take a look at a couple of the posts from your fellow supporters on our board, and see for yourself what is being let fly at the moment.Havent you already been warned?

average salary i would say, but cant believe they would be close to the cap though with all their retiements of big name players !
i think they are bluffing there.
