Dont think the Mods see this as relevant, but hey.

Your call.
If your supporters are coming over to OUR board, calling us flogs, labelling Tambling a spud, that we are all w***ers; that is cool in your mind? I've reported numorous posts for no results, I'm actually getting quite frustrated. If your mods had warned me about posting here, I wouldn't be in this thread right now. I guess it is the same on our board too, a lot is being let go at the moment, as all supporters are clearly frustrated with each other. Don't worry, as soon as the deal is done, I won't be coming to this board to gloat or anything, I'm getting the hell away from here.

What I don't understand is why your club is already having huge salary cap pressure despite having a very average list with a C-grade ruck and a terrible midfields\. Sounds like you've been forced to pay a premium and overpay players to stay at the sa cows. Brisbane had to do the same, and it all imploded this year with their salary cap crisis and resulting mass exodus. Sounds like the crows are Brisbane all over again. Interesting.

:)
Why do you always use smilies, and not list Carlton as your team supported? And yes, I'm ignoring your post as it doesn't warrant a reply.

Crows supporters.....

Salary Cap Pressure + An Average List = A Ticking Time Bomb

Don't believe me? Go have a chat with a Brisbane supporter. It was a very interesting revelation that your club official let slip.

Dont even acknowledge her.

She hates it.

Why the delay? (Rhetorical - no response required).

So with Rendell's claim that the AFC can't afford Walker in terms of their cap space, we are left with two possibilities:

- He's a liar - in which case what else should we not believe? Are the untouchables really untouchable? Is pick 14 really out of the question? Is Sauce really wanting to "go home" (in which case it's Adelaide or bust) or does Sauce want to be #1 ruck (and are there are other clubs he'd play for)?

- He's telling the truth - in which case the Crows are going to have one hell of a time keeping their hands on their untouchables when they come of age. Imagine the heaving cap in five years when Otten, Tippett, Davis, Walker, Talia, McKernan, Henderson etc are more mature. (I guess we'll know where to spend Juddy's salary when he retires about then).

Not a good scenario either way. Troubling times ahead for AFC.

am i the only one who wouldn't trade jacobs to carlton for #14? if the trade was going the other way? i'm all for us trying to get it from them of course, but if roles were reversed i wouldn't use #14 to get him. 2nd rounder, unless they want to gift us their 1st ;)

LOL at this Harper quote

"Jacobs and Griffin are similar players and one club is suggesting one player is a first-round draft pick, or pick No.14, and the other mob is suggesting the other is a third or fourth-round pick - pick 60," Harper said.

seriously... one is a hack that wouldnt get a gig in any team and the other will be thier number 1 ruck...

Griffin was our number 1 ruck for a while this year, he has talent (cue the Carlton supporters bagging our 'D grade' ruck stocks), and has more experience at the level, the quote isn't that far off the mark. He showed far more than Jacobs in his first year also (very stiff to not receive a RS nomination). Of course I rate Jacobs a little higher, but not that much. The thing Carlton supporters seem to forget is that they know nothing about Jacobs personally, and it is only speculation as to how both clubs rate him. Anyway, because of Carlton's stubborness, we won't see any action til Monday, so everything is rumour until then.

Why wait until the deal is done?

If Adelaide supporters are so committed to a young man "going home" then why did they fight tooth and nail to keep Kurt Tippett from GC and why won't they let Daniel Talia come back to Victoria. Hypocrites.

Its all a game. Have you considered Rendell may be saying this to counter the Jacobs 1mill over 3 years rumour, which is what your rocket scientists are basing their value of him on?

If kurt wanted to go he would have, he didn't need to be traded. Strange comparison. As for talia he has been here for 1 yr for FFS and is contracted.

You know what I don't understand? Is how Carlton can get so many low draft picks and still cant do anything in September? Seriously, how many priority draft picks have you had? Your club is a rabble and now all the players are jumping off your sinking/stinking ship...And of course I suppose we could always take a leaf out of your book if we come into some salary cap issues hey! I really dont care about getting Jacobs, but I really hope you get nothing for him, wherever he goes...

Griffin was our number 1 ruck for a while this year,......

Does that mean anything? Who did he beat for the gig, Sellar? It's not relevant to anything. Do you really think Swann or Icke could care less ? I'm just amazed at how simple minded your clubs officials have appeared this week. Little wonder why they stuffed the Tambling trade, and have been all over the shop with this one. It's embarrassing.

:)

Kurt wasn't going anywhere once you gave him a 3-4 mill contract. He'd commute from Brisbane each day for those bucks. Not bad for a forward who struggles to nail a set-shot from 30m out. Ever heard of the concept of paying based on performance? Perhaps if the crows did that they wouldn't have their current salary cap problems. Something to ponder.

:)

Seriously... the two shouldn't be put in the same sentence
