One of my favourite players of this era and one of the greatest players of all time.

The fact he is being compared to Sobers, proves that he is probably the second best all rounder the game has seen.

Top five player of all time and the greatest player in the game playing currently.

He is the second best batting all-rounder, behind Sobers.

Imran and Hadlee best bowling all-rounders.

Imran and Miller's stats are virtually identical. Imran's slightly better.

well miller bombed the germans and flew a beaufighter home with one engine shot off, and kicked 8 goals in an game of AFL from CHF.

Like to see Khan top that :D

Still has 34 test centuries against teams not being Zimbawe and Bangladesh.

Massive hack....

Oh no Tendulkar has 8 hundreds against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, we better take 800 runs froms his total runs.

One day Australians will respect what an absolute legend this guy is.
One of the greats, and still not slowing down.

People say as a player he is behind the tier of Lara, Tendulkar and Ponting. I would say that as a whole player, he would be picked in a side before any of them. Bats nearly as well (if not just as well), and offers a lot with the ball.

When people refer to him as below those three, I hope to God they are just talking about his batting, because IMO, his bowling puts him at least on par with them.

Well played. Love Miller, and Imran. Both two of my favorite cricketers.

And agreed, Kallis is a legend of the game. Probably what makes people rank him lower than Ponting, Lara and Sachin is a lack of explosiveness. He is probably the hardest to get out though.

Loved the great khan as well, wanted to see him do well and pakistan still lose, a bit like wanting to see Jayasuriya go on one of whirlwind centuries and still see SL lose.

There are special players that come along, I guess the pommes feel that way about warne, they want to see him spin it at right angles and take a stack of wickets at the same time they want to see him get smashed all over the ground and humiliated.

The 05 ashes loss was as much about warne's individual genius reaching its absolute peak.

Likewise Miller folks loved him, even the pommes loved him, and along with warne and Bradman, his portrait adorns Lords.

People like Miller, Warne, Khan transcend cricket. Even border, I think ambrose valued his wicket more than any other.

Many of the younger fans never saw the brittle rubbish we put out in the 80s and Border's stoic defence (incidently for much of the same reason I respect Greg Matthews for his courage as a batsman against the windian attack).

Miller is someone who comes to people of my age (mid 40s) out of legend, biographies, stories on ch 9 and is someone I whose exploits thrill those of us who will never know the deprivations of genuine war, or see him play.

Shouldnt of even got his double century. The field Doni had was ridiculious. And against a second fiddle Indian attack. His a selfish cricketer.

And that fool that said he would pick him before the litle master...got to be kidding me.

From Rodney Hogg
"Kallis is a flat-track bully, who dishes it out to the minnows like Bangladesh and Zimbabwe but goes missing against the Australians"

"He is a selfish Cricketer"

When comparing him to Gary Sobers..
"Sobers played more than half of his Tests against England and Australia, whereas Kallis has picked up around 1000 runs and 40 wickets against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. They shouldn't count.

First of all, Rodney Hogg is a hot headed loud mouth. Secondly, if you take away the 1000 runs and 40 wickets, he then has 10,000 runs and 220 wickets, pretty good numbers still.

World XI middle over the last decade would include all 4, sachin, lara, punter and Kallis.

250 runs just going off the averages, with sachin and Kallis offering handy party time bowling...not that there'd be many other batsman left outside their calibre.

I'm not sure how you can put Sachin and Kallis' bowling in the same league. Sachin averages 50 with the ball, Kallis would have played Test cricket as a bowler if he couldn't bat.
