Disagree, Stevens missed out on GF and we set an example to the playing group. Who have we lost since he left of note? I really do feel for Brisbane in the way your club keeps bleeding talent, but create a culture that players want to be part of and get some good admin people in that make smart decsions.

Pearce, chaplin, Dew, Eagleton are a few players who have left that were probably best 22

If the deal is Breust and a 1st rounder the SUNS may as well shut up shop.

In a poor side he will be garbage. He is the third best small forward at the hawks FFS. How many goals does he get from the goal square? wont get them at metricon.

need a hardened midfielder, like Shiels.

Bruest is one of the top 5 most overrated players in the competition

Bruest + a first rounder is a good deal.

Breust > Puopolo and much more consistent than Cyril.

Breust > Shiels.

Breust would kick 40+ at the Suns and hit Lynch and Wright lace out time after time.

Didn't Dew retire?

O'Meara may have nominated the Suns, but it doesn't stop GC talking to Essendon or any other Melbourne-based club.

They could make a stand and take Essendon's second round pick over Hawthorn's first round pick. That way they get something but also take a stand. You might think Essendon don't have to offer anything as they'd get him PSD, but if it came to that, GC might just capitulate and let JOM go to the hawks for a first round pick.
Gold Coast can't do any deal with Essendon without O'Meara on board. If it got to the point that Gold Coast and Hawthorn just couldn't make a deal then it would be in O'Meara's interests to look at what other offers are on the table.

Yeah I actually think he might have. Still a few decent players

Curious, had Jaeger nominated Demons or Tigers would we have a 200+pg thread suggesting 2 1st rounders?
There's be less #FreeKickHawthorn (#FreePlayerHawthorn? #FreeAgentHawthorn?) but it would still be a hot topic. The Tigers have pick 6, so should be able to get a deal done fairly easily. The Dees don't have a first round pick so that would be interesting. Hogan and O'Meara together in one mini-draft super trade would be neat.

Yeah. Mostly because that was what the Suns said they would "demand" for him.

It's not just the Hawks who would be figuratively giving up 2 first rounders.

No he wont. He will get barely any delivery and unlike Hawthorn, the suns actually have a focal point that they kick to, where as the hawks share the load.

he is a stay at home small forward whose numbers are highly skewed as he plays for an amazing team.

He wont kick more than 30 at the Suns if it eventuates.

Hawthorn will have a very difficult trade period trying to get in Mitchell and O'Meara without a hell of a lot to offer except for poor first round draft picks and Brad Hill.

Breust is the only other Hawthorn player with currency which is probably why his name is being bandied about. In two years' time he'll be worth not much so his agent is probably just pumping up his tyres for one last big contract.
Possibly one of the most ridiculous things I've read on BF and thats really saying something.

We will get both for 2 1sts and Hill.

Juts because people don't want it to happen doesn't mean it wont.

Right....so JOM is forcing himself on an unwilling Hawthorn, and the Hawks have been standing around saying "Aw gosh, aw geez, we don't want him to come here....but I guess we'll have to let him, purely out of the kindness of our own hearts".

Yes, I'm really sure that's how things went down.
that is how it went down! we are the victims!!

Did alright in 2012 and 2013 when most of the forward entries went to Franklin and Roughead

Top 6 at Hawthorn for inside 50s and #1 for forwards. 9th in disposals too.

Clueless if you think he only gets on the work of others.

How is it any more ridiculous than letting a player go to the PSD for nothing which has happened before? At least this way the Gold Coast made their stand and still got a pick that's only about 6 spots worse than what Hawthorn would be offering and O'Meara gets to follow his Mrs to Melbourne.

My understanding was that Essendon was the only other team to put forward a deal.

1. he doesn't want to go to Essendon, never did, so they can't send him anywhere, he will just go in the National draft to Hawthorn.

2. But lets say he did agree to go to Essendon, how is taking a worst pick making a stand ? He still goes to a club he wants to except GC get less.
