Not if you want Brandon Matera but if you want possibly the best young player in the league as described by Matthews, Watson etc than yes it is **** all
We're not talking about the superstar in the making that was promised when you first drafted him, we're talking about a guy who has played very little footy in 2 years and has a suspect knee. Some perspective please.

Six decades of domination
Get lost hawthorn, make them pay the price he is worth. Just because hawthorn have wrecked the own trade period. Make them suffer for their arrogance. Stand firm gcs
What's an uncontracted player with a massive knee injury who hasn't played in 2 years worth?

Are we talking a Judd deal or just Dangerfield?

Hawks have no one to blame but themselves.

They traded their 2016 first round pick to Tom Mitchell. That was their choice. If they still had that pick plus pick 10, this deal would be done. They can't cry that they are offering all they have when they placed another player higher than JOM.

Hawks have made their bed, they have to lie in it now.

For Fyfe, I reckon everyone would start looking for ways to put together a warchest. Especially if Freo struggle again.

Problem is, that deal has to be done before 2pm tomorrow. And still requires JOM wanting to go to you.

That said, why havent Essendon already tried to do that? Surely you'd want to load up on top 10 picks if you could?
We do it late enough you can't stump up a deal to gcs (whatever you can put together now)
Gives us a few weeks to meet with him and his mgmt
Once he knows he's going to come to us with pick 8, we suggest psd. Makes his new team better

Also Melbourne had to wait for the Hawks to let Lewis go after that was flagged before the trade period then f'd up.
So we only got 29 today

Clarkson needs to grab Bruest by the scruff of the neck and tell him to pack his bags its for the good of the club.
I love how Lewis was saying nah all good I still love Hawthorn and Clarko but when asked about cleaning out his locker says "I'm not going back, Roughy will do it for me"

Perspective
Clay smith - 3 years out. Tears a finals series apart
Dan Menzel - 4 years. Excellent return to football

We offered a 1st round pick plus 23 and 34 for O'meara. We got Mitchell for one late 1st round pick.

You want us to give up Tom Mitchell, Hill, plus a 1st and 2nd round pick for O'meara ?

I wouldn't say 41 is a nothing pick in this draft.
thats not what I'm saying.

clubs now have to have as many list spots as picks. So if they trade one pick (pick 8) for 3 late picks for points for academy players, they will have to delist 2 more players and take 2 picks at the end of the draft e.g. 75+.

I'm not sure they'd struggle to find players to delist

No you are whining that we want a 1st and a player who's injury prone yet can happily offer him big bucks and not bat an eyelash.
No, I'm pointing out that it's all well and good to want more out of the deal but it's better to take that than lose him for nothing. As for the offer, you may not have noticed, but we've had a bit of success lately so we can afford to take a bit of a risk.

I perfectly understand the reasoning for wanting a player included in the deal, but that seems unlikely unless a third party comes to the table. You need to be a little more flexible.
