If he was going to Essendon he'd have nominated them by now as they're not playing finals.

The fact Cochrane has suggested that he knows who the club is, but is keeping it to himself, suggests it's a finals side and he's been advised to keep it in house in the interests of getting a fair trade from the nominated club.
When asked by 3AW last night, Cochrane said he and the club have a fair idea on who the club is.

They'd know.

I don't buy for one minute that the Suns had no idea he was talking to other clubs. It's rubbish.
I agree with you. Ess is one club that has been talking to him for the past 12 months (I am not saying he will end up there).

DID YOU SEE FRANCIS" FIRST GAME?
Sick of this argument. Francis looks the goods as does Gresham. Carlisle is proven & will help next year. Morgan I don't know much about. Looks like a classic win-win. Can we move on now?

Back on topic. JOM is a classic high risk high reward recruit for whoever gets him. If he requested a trade two years ago we would've seen chris Judd type compensation (low 1st, late 1st plus a highly rated junior). For example, Richmond would have to have given up pick 5, an early second & a Rioli type. But that's two years ago. I still think GC will get decent compo but more like a top 10 pick & a bottom 6 in 22 type player. For example, north pick 11 & a Sam Wright type.

Yes, and I've seen him play a fair bit over the last year and a half, I rate him don't worry and could very well be better in the long run he's got a high ceiling, but Gresham has been terrific this year and will get even better when he gets more midfield time, so when deciding francis or gresham this year, it's gresham easily

Yeah your right. Freeman was your high risk high reward shot and looks blown at this stage. I think Richmond are the ones that would explode if JOM didnt pan out. Also hows GC trying for Fyfe. Fyfe is the most Western Australian born and bred loyal lad you could get. He would never ever leave WA! I think GC were just hoping JOM might favour going back to WA over going south and getting sweet nothing fir him because of power of the p. Lol damn GC really are desperate the more I think of it! I reckon they would take some of them joke trades just to get something.

So who will get the No. 1 Guernsey? Jaeger or our first draft pick?
Was only pick 28 in the end, you can get a superstar at 28 sometimes sure but was worth it for a top 10 pick, probably would've hurt more if we were bottom 4 and gave up like 21, looking unlikely atm he comes good but he's still got 2 years left on his contract so we'll see.

Tony Cocharne apparently mentioned tonight that he knows the club O'Meara wants to go to......Gold Coast saying they want experienced quality players.

The same week as Hodge etc take pay cuts.

Hawks give up a couple Premiership players (they want mids) and the deal gets done. Maybe Hartung, first round draft pick and say Isaac Smith.
So Eade wants two 1st rounders and Cocherane indicates they want quality experienced players, which is it?

I don't think Suns would want Hartung as they have enough skinny runners. I can see them after Hawks 2017 1st rounder and Sicily/Howe/Lovell. Sicily is the most obvious has he fills a need for Suns. Howe a big bodied midfielder/utility and Lovell a ball magnet midfielder were both 1st round picks in previous drafts.

Manchester United, Juventus,
Bombers may not be able to fit him into the cap anyway. All the players got back from rehab with restructured lucrative deals.
Part of the reason as why hibberd is leaving among others.

Not even saying it as a biased fan but I'd be very surprised if O'Meara doesn't end up at the hawks. Especially after all the little whispers that he is going to nominate the hawks anyway.
Not true. Have plenty of cap room left, Hibberd's sticking point was length of contract amongst other things. Could easily afford JOM in the unlikely chance he picks us

Essendon can certainly afford him, would be a back loaded 3 year contract if he came to us which i think will only happen via the PSD for us or maybe pick 19 if he entered the National draft.

Think he wants to go to the hawks that was pretty well talked about earlier in the year before the talk became T.Mitchell. The Hawks wont get him for free. they will still be using a pick for him id say they're probably happy to depart with their 1st round pick for him but i think that would be about all.

Clarkson 'amused' with Hawks' link to departing Sun O'Meara

HAWTHORN coach Alastair Clarkson was tight-lipped on Saturday morning about the possibility of departing Gold Coast young gun Jaeger O'Meara moving to the Hawks.

On Thursday, the Suns released a statement to say the 22-year-old wanted to move interstate. As he has not been in the system long enough to be classed as a free agent, any club wishing to acquire O'Meara would have to trade for him, or select him in either the NAB AFL Draft or the pre-season draft.

The three-time reigning premiers have been linked to the midfielder, whose persistent knee injuries have meant he has not been seen on an AFL field since 2013.

"It's a (Hawks list manager) Graham Wright question. We're probably not in a position as a club right now to have comment on it," Clarkson said at training on Saturday.

"He's just name No.25 that's been linked to Hawthorn that (everyone) has read in the press as much as I have. I'm amused sometimes with all the names that get linked to us.

"It's only just come out this week that Jaeger's given the indication that he wants to move."

The Hawks face Collingwood on Sunday afternoon at the MCG, in a clash that will have significant ramifications on their finals spot.

A win could have them as high as first, but a loss could see them fall to seventh.

Premiership forward Ryan Schoenmakers is back in the team for the first time since round three after being hampered by a groin issue.

"He's missed a fair amount of footy," Clarkson said.

"His last six or eight weeks he's slowly been able to build some strength up in his body and overcome that groin problem.

"It's a little bit of the unknown, but what we do know is he brings a really strong presence for us when he plays in the front half and he's capable for us to do some good things in the back half when we require him to do so."

Inconsequential fluff piece.

Hard to argue with this. You'd think he would only do this if Essendon aren't the club, to make sure the club he does want to get to pony up a decent trade offer, otherwise they'll miss out and Essendon will gladly grab him with pick 1 in the PSD.

Would be a catastrophically bad move by Cochrane if Essendon is the club, so logic would suggest they are not.

Fyfe to Gold Coast
Jaegar and their first round to hawks
Hill and 2 1st rounds (hawks 1st and Gold Coast 1st) to Freo
We could just deal with GC for Fyfe if that was any sort of chance. Don't need a 3rd party.

If it's to land Hill? haha we don't need Fyfe to be the player that makes that deal happen.
