Spot on. Despite all the back patting that goes on in AFLHQ, the state of football in Queensland is a joke. Brisbane and Gold Coast need some form of retention program to stymie the constant exodus of players to the Eastern states. Also, if a player wants to leave, I have no issue with this, as it's been going on for eons and if I wanted to leave my job, I'd sure as hell hope that me boss would let me and not make a song and dance about it, but there should be no shafting; Dangerfield to Geelong, Hawthorn's stand on Hill, these are a couple of examples of this, even Treloar's move last year saw him want GWS adequately compensated. In practice, the AFL should jump in and mediate any go home cases so shafting is limited, particularly if dealing with notoriously prick clubs.
