If GWS were looking for more players, sure. But it seems that they've filled their list with zone selections, so are looking at the picks being offered.
Gold Coast with pick #4 and Melbourne with their two picks would be the strongest, you would think.
It's hard to truly know what GWS are after in exchange for these mini-draft picks. But somehow i don't think pick#4 in this years NAB draft, nor a single or even both of our compo picks will be enough to get the #1(O'Meara) pick in the mini-draft.
Let's just assume for a second that our 2 compo picks did get us the #1 pick. Melbourne would have effectively lost/given up Scully and the 2 compo picks to GWS, all for a player that was never going to be theirs in the first place. Whilst i'd do the deal, GWS is getting away with daylight robbery.
GWS give nothing and receive Scully + 2 compo picks. Talk about massive win!

We are replacing Scully with a similarly high-calibre talent.
IMO we could add Warnock in as a bid bodied player and that would be enough for the number 1 mini-draft pick.
Don't consider it the equivalent of a #1 draft pick in the ND, it isn't.

It's a win for both clubs. Only way I could see someone else topping that offer is if a club does actually offer a superstar, but I can't see that happening.
Very harsh on Beams. He is a young proven star. I too find it hard to see another club offering a better player than Beams. Maybe they'll have picks that could potentially be more attractive but in terms of a player I've yet to see one mentioned in any thread by any interested club.
Personally, I'd prefer to keep Beams at all costs considering he is contracted and based on what he has produced for our side so far and also because we are still in premiership mode, not to mention that he s still very young.
Goldsack is a solid footballer, agree there but he would get a more consistent look-in in just about most other sides.

Beams has proven in the back end of this season that he is more than just a solid player with potential. Im a goldsack hater, but i still think it would be tough to match beams and goldsack. Pick 4 is the only thing in their way i rekon
pick 4 from GC to GWS...Beams (back home to family and brother) and Goldsack to GC (Bluey McKenna would love them)...O'Meara to Collingwood
Swap around some late draft picks where needed and we have a deal.

You're assuming GC would prefer Beams and Goldsack over O'Meara, given the rumours about them offering pick 4 to GWS for him. I can't see that being the case, I'm pretty sure GC would take quality over quantity given they already have list pressures from their shrinking list size over the next few years.
Contract status doesn't really matter. It just means Goldsack can decline the trade if he wants, same as if he was uncontracted.

Cannot see Suns list management going for Goldsack and Beams, especially if it meant losing Jag.
Suns have said that they're going to likely be quiet in trade week. Cannot see much happening.

3 picks in the first round ( pick 9,10,11) in next years super draft is GOLD.
pick 9 example- Dyson Heppel type.
pick 10 example- John Butcher type.
pick 11 example- gun ruck or gun inside mid.
surely ^^^^ is better than Dyson Heppel type + jaeger.

O'Meara is touted as a top 3 pick.
I wouldn't trade Trengove or Watts for picks 10 and 11.

O'Meara, with a years development on an AFL list, is a lot closer to a sure thing then pick 11 and another pick after Melbourne's first (unless we finish bottom four).
So you would be happy with viney + jaeger over viney + pick 10 & 11?
