Feel genuinely sorry for the kid.

Do not in any way feel sorry for the Hawks, and believe that their desire to 'prove' the trade was worthwhile has likely contributed to Jaegars issues.

Real shame as he's got everything in terms of athletic ability & football talent. Would've been awesome to see a fit Ablett,O'Meara,Swallow & Bennell run around.

No he hasn't injured his patella tendon again. Learn to read.

Then why does it state:

JAEGER O’Meara’s return to football remains uncertain, with Hawthorn confirming he is suffering from a new injury to his troubled patella tendon.

"It's a new injury, different to what he had before," he said, referring to the injury that kept him out of the 2015 and 2016 seasons when he played for Gold Coast.

How do I read that as not an injury to his patella tendon?

Read further - there is bone stress in the Patella, nothing to do with the tendon.

Well you can look at what SEN says Andrew Russell said, or you can just go and see what he actually said.

"We've identified he's got some bone stress in his patella. This is a new issue, it's a different issue to what we've had to deal with before with him."

"We got him back to 90 to 95 percent of full function and then this new pain surfaced. So any bone when you have bone stress, that bone heals, it recovers."

So the new injury was identified as a bone injury and not a tendon injury.

Got any, ya know, evidence of that?

Or do you just think that these industry professionals rushed O'Meara into playing pre-season football as a PR stunt and against good medical wisdom? Because even though you might want it to be true, that sounds pretty ridiculous.

So the new injury was identified as a bone injury and not a tendon injury.

Anyway you wish to define it,a new injury cannot be good.

He was reported to have suffered bone bruising back in early May. Now is reported to have bone stress as well.

And so it appears that as one part part of his knee resolves, a new issue flares.

JAEGER O’Meara is battling a new knee issue that will keep him out until “later in the season”.

The prized recruit has a long history of knee problems — the latest of which has sidelined him since Round 6 — but Hawthorn said a recent new issue of bone stress has emerged.

“We’ve identified he’s got his bone stress in his patella,” club fitness boss Andrew Russell said on Tuesday.

“This is a new issue — different to what we’ve had to deal with before with him, which is good.

“Dealing with something different, we’re really happy about.

“Obviously we want him to be 100 per cent but right now he’s not.”

Russell said O’Meara had returned to “90 to 95 per cent” of knee function before he was struck down with the latest issue.

It seems there are some decent physio minds in this thread, so I'm sure they could shed more light...

But in a thread where it's suggested lower back stiffness has caused JOM's patella tendon issues, how can anyone here argue with confidence that his new patella bone injury is unrealated or completely different to the tendon injury (or previous surgery's on that part of the knee).

Laughable really.

Classic spin from the Hawks!! It's funny reading how many supporters are falling for it....again....he's done this year.
Any hawthorn supporter that can't see what a disaster JOM currently is, is in denial!! He isn't going to play another game this season and will have a slow start to pre-season next year. How anyone can see his recruitment as a positive is actually embarrassing, especially for what the club gave up for him...
