Yeah finals footy can be really intense.. But you'd know all about th-
I used to go for the Hawks, so I do. :P

I grew up watching football through the nineties and the Hawks were utter crap. But when they came good, it was an incredibly satisfying experience to watch them finally come good.

I'm hoping for the same for the Suns.

Okay. Kind of figured that you were a lurking, bitter GC fan wishing ill to Jaeger and the Hawks generally. Carry on.

Never wished O'Meara ill. Been quite hopeful of his recovery, honestly.

"Sam Mitchell is a huge loss, no question. I doubt O'Meara can fill that hole, but I think the fact O'Meara has been out of the game for two years is overplayed. The reality is that O'Meara is not a project player; he's a prodigious talent and it'll be like riding a bike for the guy. He might be a bit rusty, but shaking off the rust won't be that difficult. The only risk when it comes to O'Meara imo is whether or not his injury has actually healed. If it has, the fact of the matter is that O'Meara was one of our best young players and leaders at the Gold Coast Suns. He'll be a star for the Hawks. He won't fill the hole left behind by Sam Mitchell, but Sam Mitchell is one of the best midfielders to ever play for the Hawks (if not the very best with Leigh Matthews). He has an equal amount of total Brownlow votes to Gary Ablett, Jr. to put it in perspective." (2016)

Does anyone still believe he can reach the lofty heights he was predicted to reach early in his career?

He’s lost a yard since first coming on scene. Not sure if he can get it back but doesn’t have the burst factor he used to have.

You're probably right but even still he is faster then most mids, speed is still one of his weapons.

Put it this way, if JOM was a random player who had come into our side averaging 22 possessions, 6 tackles, 4 clearances, 3 i50's and a goal every game, we'd be impressed.

As it is, nobody on bf will give any credit until he's selected for AA. Which is understandable because that's how he was tracking previously. I'm thrilled, however, that his knee is being successfully managed.

He's just a random player who cost you two first round draft picks and $750,000 + a season

There have been plenty of players on higher contracts, but delivered nothing in return. Exhibit A:

say what now? Which midfielders are you leaving out for him?

Credit to the guy for his comeback from injury and I hear he got 30 possessions the other week, but he is so far off AA it's not funny. There's a pantheon of other mids in front of him, lead by his mate Tom Mitchell.

Strange comment really. The guy is averaging 22 disposals, has reached 30 just once; and is solidly average in every stat category (4 marks, 0.7 goals, 4.2 clearances, 6.2 tackles). It's ok, it's not bad, but it's a long, long way from AA standard - particularly for a midfielder when there's so many better players out there putting up better performances
I say he sits somewhere on the “On the Park to AA” continuum.

Bigfooty is hilarious.

Don't get me wrong I don't think he is anywhere near it but compared to Cotchin who Richmond fans think is a certainty they don't stack up too bad (24 disposals 0.2 goals 5.3 clearances 4.6 tackles)

You sure?
