So you guys now blaming Gold Coast medics for Omearas plight
Not us guys, just me! I'm a Physio and live on the GC. I watch the Suns play semi regularly and want to see them do well for the good of footy in Queensland.
Over the years I have heard whispers about the way they have done things. I have heard about players being unhappy.
What I do know is there has been a large number of players suffering with ongoing chronic issues that should have been rectified.
It was clear as day Ablett was suffering from a frozen shoulder post his reconstruction yet he went out and played with a barely functional arm.
Make of this what you will but due to these rumblings they overhauled their medical and strength and conditioning team 2-3 years ago. Players that have left in the last couple of years include: OMeara, Prestia, Smith, Caddy, Gorringe as well as requests by Ablett for a trade and May putting contract talks on hold. All those guys bar Ablett are young guys in their prime.
The new guys that are now running the medical and strength and conditioning side of the things are apparently fantastic so it looks as though they have turned the corner there unfortunately it might have been a bit late to retain Jaeger.
My gut feel, and it is purely that's, is that it was the management of his injury that predominantly lead Jaeger to request a trade. I don't think the Hawks won him over by claiming a miracle cure for him but I do know that the guys there a very professional as they would be at the Bombers, Dogs, Cats, Saints etc. I don't think the Suns were quite up to standard there for a while but hopefully that's been addressed now.
Like I said that's just my gut feel based on looking at some incidents and hearing a few rumors.
