We should start a Francis/Jaeger joint pre-season thread.

Hopefully both fit and firing for rd1. I reckon Jaeger, Titch and Shiels are going to run a pretty strong inside midfield group for the Hawks in 2018.

The player everyone seems to be forgetting about is Kieran Lovell. Taken with pick 22 in the 2015 national draft. About three picks after Ryan Burton. He missed the entire season last year due to a shoulder reconstruction.

I hope so mate, was very disappointed in Shiels this season. Was really expecting him to take the next step with Lewis and Mitchell moving on. I have more faith in some of our younger guys kicking on with it. Cousins looks super fit and ready to go. We desperately need to be able to get Mitchell some assistance in the midfield this season.

Is it alleged? Stats are there.

I suppose the 'over-use' part of your comment is valid.

So I'll say that he looked like a relatively average midfielder when he did play AND he was handballing more. Might be just a correlation, might be a causation - I don't know. The observation is there though.
