Jaidyn Stephenson - how good can he be?

The bookies would say Doedee (3.50), Witherden (4.50) and Murray (4.50) are ahead of him (8.50)
I have him ahead of the other 3 so far. He started off slow but has actually become an integral part of the front 6 for Collingwood.

Averaging 5 score involvements a game. In the last 6 games he has kicked 12 goals.

Will be interesting to see how the season pans out for the lot.

I think he is the best young player at the moment. He is clearly ahead in the rising star.

Same here. Bunch of good players this year in the running but Stephenson has the best eye-catching talent in terms of who can go on to become the next Dusty, Dangerfield etc type superstar. Doedee, Bonner, Murray, Witherden, Ronke all look 200+ gamers but Stephenson is the one who will tear games apart every week. Perhaps it's simply the difference between gun half backs and a gun forward-mid.

Probably still is the closest bunch of rising star eligible players in years. Most years you can see a clear 5 or 6 breaking away at this point, not that they all end up playing the full season, while this year there's still a really strong pack.

Rising star lost its integrity when Shaw came third behind Pearce and some scrub + Pendles was robbed the following year. Fuming. Livid.

A way better version of Will Hoskin-Elliot , NTTIAWWH .
Pies are building very nicely , a few players away from genuine contention

That one where he tried to draw the Dees defender and pretty much ran all the way to him :screamcat:
Yep that, He hit the post, when he got the holding the ball call on Jetta Adams played on to WHE... could have had a shot instead, he stuffed up two gettable shots on goal by his standard also. Could have been a very big day for him

That HTB was 40 out on the boundary tbf, but those sort of tackles are as good as a goal these days.

I was impressed by how dangerous he looked one on one. Jetta constantly wins battles he shouldn't, but today he met his match.

Won't win it plays for Collingwood, still laugh at when Shaw was robbed by Pearce.

It's become an interstate award last 10 years you have had 3 from 10 winners being from a VIC club.

He's had some very memorable performances which will hold him in good stead. Frankly anytime a first year player kicks 4 goals or more is a bloody good effort. Watching some of his efforts this year I could easily see him joining the true elite of the AFL in years to come.

He is going to be quality. Easier to stomach yesterday after he cut his hair. The Pies have a few in his mould and they all look particularly unstoppable when Cox is on song, imagine a running CHF like Hogan or Darling in their side.
