I dont get what the argument is about.. A list manager trying to get more for a player than he ends up getting? Should he accept whatever is first offered to be nice to everyone? I dont like essendon as much as anyone else but cmon stop flogging the same argument for 100 pages. Its his job to try get the best deal for the club

As much as I hate Essendon, that is a crap deal for them. Picks 30 and 35 are insignificant in this years draft, and Carlisle has far more currency than Hrovat.
Picks 30 and 35 are insignificant. Wow. People have gone completely nuts with this "shallow" draft stuff.

I was pretty clear that I think 11 straight up is fair for Carlisle, and was just looking at potential alternatives if McCartney refuses to put it on the table.

Then keep the picks and Hrovat. Pick 11 is fair value. Your other proposal is significantly inferior.

Going to be very entertaining to see how this unfolds. For Essendons sake they should be hopeful Jake doesn't nominate CFC as we will most likely give back just 2 second round picks for him. Bulldogs have pick 12-14 which should just be a straight swap. Saints more has to play out

Even if Blues offer 2 seconds rds still not a bad result

Pick 30, 35 and Hrovat is a decent offer, but i reckon Essendon will prefer a singular high pick if they can get it.

Hrovat, pick 30 and pick 35 (from Adelaide for Talia).

I personally think pick 11 is fair, but with Carlton holding the first pick in the psd, Essendon just have to get a deal done with the dogs if Carlisle nominates us.

Hrovat would be ideal for the bombers.
I agree that pick 11 is fair, but if Essendon had interest in Hrovat or we wanted to lowball them, Essendon may prefer that we package pick 30 and Talia up for a higher pick (Sydney's first, maybe we throw in a third rounder?) and get a low first round pick / early second plus Hrovat.
Essendon will probably take 5 - 6 draft picks this year so a few picks in the 30s would be useful for them, but surely they'd prefer a higher pick than two mid picks.

We can't do that with Mills. Need our first round for Mills or to trade like 14 for 2 picks in the early to mid 20's, so we get points for Mills.

No chance with us.

Talia would be our second rounder at best

My source told me that North have met twice with Carlisle, and made no mention of how the meetings went. I'd assume that North are still in the running.
Fair enough mate. I heard North have cooled off on him & that Carlisle wasn't happy with the meeting. Not sure what about though (years, money, position etc).

My workmate said St Kilda were big on Carlisle & would make a big push for him. Then today I read an article that someone at St Kilda has openly said to the media that they really want him. Doesn't mean anything but it's going to be very interesting to see where Jake ends up.

I do find it very interesting that he still hasn't informed the club of his preferred destination.
