The problem with Carlisle wanting to get to the best club is that they're the ones who probably need him the least. Doggies could do without him messing up their mojo. Even Carlton probably don't need another player who thinks he deserves the world before he gives anything.

Saints seem to be the most desperate to get him, they'll probably offer up everything and he'll be off to Seaford.

I hope he pulls his head in and does well, unfortunately I think there's about a 10% chance of that happening if he goes to a club pandering to him.

He did meet with the Saints before he went away. Ameet Bains and Alan Richardson have both said this.

"The Saints indicated on the weekend they had met with Carlisle once already and hoped to do so again when he returned from his overseas trip.

Richardson told Channel 7 the Saints considered Carlisle, who turns 24 on Thursday, a quality player who matched their needs."
Can confirm, heard Bains on ABC Grandstand stating exactly this.

Ironically with a couple of key backs added they might be.

Too many question marks on their KPP's for it to be as clear cut as Doggies supporters would like to believe.
Regardless of KPP's surely the Dogs are ahead of StKilda and Carlton??? They are the teams I am referring to

I'm getting impression Saints won't trade pick 5. What will you trade to make Essendon happy?
Hickey, Dunstan, 2nd rounder with 3rd rounder coming back,

2 of the above, that sort of thing.

The question is how happy do we have to make Essendon, if we have already made Carlisle happy?

2nd rounder and Darren Walsh (who was delisted at the end of the trade period) for the All Australian centerman. :$

Also the bombers fax machine broke, so they were anxious to know if the Bulldogs accepted their stupid trade request. :D

edit : even worse the deluded arrogant campaigners wanted the Dogs to pay part of his salary and West take a pay cut.
Wasn't the fax machine the alvey deal?

Also, the mediation stuff was when caddy was trying to get home. We offered our first rd and hooker. They wanted Hurley. A year later they took a 1st Rd and pick 57 from Geelong.
Not sure it was that unreasonable we wanted to keep Hurley

He's not a free agent. Carlton are keen and gave first pick in the draft. And we have the one right before you.
To answer the question, if you want us to trade him to you, make us happy

I think we'd take the risk on Essendon re-drafting him, though I'm not sure we can price Carlton out of it.

Let's be frank, the Ace up the sleeve is Carlisle's previous surliness, no one's going to take him after he's told them he has no interest in going there.

But....

his surliness/attitude is also the risk in offering him big dollars over multiple years.

I think we'll take the risk in terms of trade, or in terms of contract

but not both.

Essendon Dodoro interview wasn't to keen on Parish at 4
My understanding is parish is a real chance to land at Gold Coast at 3 and Essendon don't want to build expectations.
I think Francis, weideman or my surprise packet is milera. A bit of Stephen hill about him.

If we take Milera at #4 I will puke out of my eyes.

Which we will dig our feet in over. Not sure we'll smile and accept unders (again) because jakes contract is costing st kilda a bit more than anticipated. If i were in essendons shoes, an 800k contract means i want pick 5, and if it isn't offered, I call afl mediation in. Players on those contracts are clearly top end talents and as such, since this isn't free agency, an equitable trade is a high draft pick.

Actually to me it sounded like he liked Parish, but didn't want to make it too obvious.

Listening to Bev, doesn't sound like he is too keen.

At same time, it's dogs chasing carlisle, not the other way around. Carlisle obviously has a price he wants and if he can't get an offer atleast close to that then dogs would be wasting his time. Money comes into the equation, as much as beverage doesn't want it to.
