The way i see it, 5 options in play

1. Carlisle drops $1m over 4 seasons, result Carlisle to Hawks
2. Pick 10, Carlisle to Saints
3. Pick 5 minus 23/25, Carlisle to Saints
4. PSD, Essendon convince Carlisle to stay, Carlisle to Bombres
5. PSD, Carlisle to Saints

That is purely salary related. If someone else throws in a bit of cash things can change very quickly
I'm sure it won't change. I think Carlisle is a young bloke who cares about the next 8-10 years not next year where he is possibly suspended. I'd be very certain for the majority of Carlisle's remaining career that St Kilda will be above Hawthorn on the ladder. Hawks are going to bottom out soon and the Saints are on the rise.

Except that the Age article is wrong.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-10-...ubs-provisional-picks-as-trade-period-unfolds

If a club trades a future first-round selection, it may not trade any other future selections from the same draft. However if a club retains its future first-round selection, it can trade multiple future selections from other rounds.
Except Saints 3rd round onwards isn't going to get the deal done. It doesn't work as an order of trade type affair where if you trade later picks first you still have the option of your first, as they have already moved on their 2nd round pick they can still trade later picks but not their first.

Will the Saints be above Geelong as well for the next 8-10 years?

I think Geelong just made their list a fair bit younger and have now replaced a lot of the older guys. They have done well by good luck. They had help that Dangerfield and Henderson wanted to come home, Selwood's brother was captain and that Gold Coast were happy to sell cheap. Its a difficult thing to replicate. Perhaps Geelong above them for the next 3-4 years while the current recruits are still going and then the Saints above Geelong for next 4-5 years. Geelong put themselves back in the finals for the next 3-4 years while the Saints are rising and will be a good side. So yes the Saints will be above Geelong for most of the next 8-10 years.

Has been literally wrong about everything in trade period so far.
Opinion discarded.

Back to where we were this morning.
Jay Clark a flog according to Saints fans.

"Dodoro has rejected pick 10 for Carlisle" if true what a bloody dumb ass
Lets use Jay as a source.

Pretty sure trade whisperer got that one out first... Hence why I asked for a source when Defacto posted that, as it's an anonymous twitter.
If trade whisperer got it from Clark, then I'm still asking for a source who has actually been right about something through trade period, rather than a parrot

.
do you have any to suggest they wont?
Asking for negative evidence is just childish.
Can you provide evidence that aliens won't attack tomorrow?
Can you provide evidence that a group of supermodels won't invade my home and demand my body?

Its easy to believe crap for no good reason and demand negative evidence. You are probably a prime candidate for some weird religious cult ( or supporting Essendon football club ).

So Essendon could have went in the draft with 4, 8 and 10 but Dodoro has said no to ten. Very strange.
How do you expect to get 10 when you'll be banned from trading your 2016 first rounder when the Freeman deal goes through? Pretty much confirms that Saints can no longer keep pick 5 and so might as well just give it to Essendon.

Makes some of the proposed GC/Port/Essendon/St.Kilda trades void.
