If we got say pick 10-15 for Henderson, I'd prefer to invest in the draft than give it up for a player who, at this stage, we don't know if he will be eligible to play next year. No way Carlton give up such a high pick for a player who has all of these negatives against his name. They only do it on the cheap. I'm not saying psd, I'm saying a pick 20 and onwards.
Shit , imagine if Carlisle couldn't line up for Carlton next year due to suspension. There goes their chance to make the 8.

Sarcasm emoticon deploy!!!

It shouldn't faze you in the least , if anything Carlton would welcome another top 3 pick next year.

As for later then pick 20 , lol. So Henderson is worth pick 14 , and Carlisle pick 20+. Yes clubs may be wary of giving up too much for Carlisle considering he could sit out from 6-12 games. I don't think that completely slashes his value.

It will be an interesting trade week if the ASADA verdict remains unknown. Port have done well out of *FC uncertainty and paid unders for Monfries and Ryder.

Monfries was a free agent. We gave up two picks for Ryder which was about the limit of what we could do.
Nice sentiments, but bottom line is many think PAFC paid unders for Ryder as uncertainty around *FC scared other bidders.

Why will this year be different?

PAFC may still lose Ryder for a year or two if WADA go hard (making the trade look more than fair) plus *FC got some good kids that look OK in the draft so it was probably a reasonable deal in the end.

Uncertainty didn't do anything. GWS were offering pick 4 but Patrick said PAFC only.

Monfries we traded for a 3rd rounder (pick 51) so he didn't go as a FA. Port kept their compo for Danyle Pearce that way.

We offered big money for Stevie J, Howe, and Ryder last year.
Gives me a sneaky suspicion we have cap space available for a Carlisle/Dangerfield type play this year.

Wonder if GWS would bid for Motlop, Hendo and yarran this year? Seem to have it all but an experienced KP (Hendo or Carlisle) and some x Factor/Speed (from Yarran or Motlop) would accelerate the Flag chances and spectator appeal.

Ive maintained this from the outset. He isnt going anywhere, just doing his due dilligence and trying to get the best deal for himself. The length of the deal is whats taking the time, think it will end up a 4 year deal with a generous pay increase

If you believe this you must still believe in the tooth fairy.

He is gone, gone , gone to Carlton.

He met with Silvagni and his manager last week. The only way he does not wear navy blue next year is if Carlton change there mind.

Is not even speaking to Dodoro or bombers anymore.

North Melbourne have made the highest offer but he is not interested in going to them.

Perhaps the tooth fairy exists or perhaps I choose to believe a very good family friend who speaks regularly to staff at the club. Maybe he is being fed porky pies, guess we will have to wait and see. Would love him to stay but not the end of the world if he doesnt and as ive said before I wouldnt blame him if he did choose to leave.
