as a Bombers supporter do you think Essendon need a fresh start and start building back up again

You have plenty of stars in Hepple, Zaharakis, Hurley, Daniher and young players that look that will be good prospects in the Merritt boys, Laverde, Langford. But watching last 2 months and clubs needs a different look

I like Jake Carlise but don't think his anything super and you probably agree, would benefit being in a different team. I think Bombers will want him to stay around due to lack of key position quality depth but see dark times ahead for Bombers. Blues will also need five years of building before we go forward, I'm also prepared for dark times. I just think Bombers should take a package for him, if offered

We definitely need a mini rebuild. Hit the draft hard for the next two or three years and then hopefully we start to push into the top 8 again at least.

Jake Carlisle isn't a superstar now, however he's had an injury interrupted past two pre seasons which has no doubt limited his output. I still see the Hawks swooping in late and taking him, suits them perfectly with Lake nearing the end.

Hey Gillo, when you mean package, is that the nice term for saying "a second round pick at best"?
I think that what his worth
To get him to Blues I just think we need to sell to him you will play permanent defense and nowhere near the ruck where you sometimes chip in

I fully accept that he's unlikely to be at Essendon next year, but you're delusional if you honestly think he will choose Carlton over a team like Hawthorn
Out of interest MD4 , throw a player at me from us ( plus our first rdr ) might get the deal done from your perspective

Hartung would interest us, although not sure if you'd be willing to part with him without us throwing in something else. Something like Carlisle + 3rd rounder 2015 + 2016 for 1st rounder 2015 + Hartung.

Not unreasonable but i suspect he is a keeper in the clubs eyes (Billy)
Would Big Ben have any appeal to you .

While it may be fun and interesting it's completely pointless to discuss hypothetical trades for uncontracted personnel. They make their choice based on money etc and then the trading club is left to deal with the selected club, completely without leverage.

i fhate the player movement system in the AFL. It is archaic and needs to cater less to the players preferences.

This thread is tiresome.
Fact is it will play out soon enough.
Essendon supporters need to accept like Ryder we will not get full value for Carlisle. If jake chooses Carlton we may get Henderson trade pick or be in a three way with yarran (wa club?). I would be surprised if jake goes to psd with no justification for my thoughts.
Best case scenario for Essendon is jake ends up at north and we get about pick 12in the draft.
We will learn a lot about jake in the next 6 weeks. If he chooses Carlton he chooses as big a rabble as us with a less talented list but he will get cash and play chb.
If he chooses hawthorn or other top 8 team he is playing for success which you cannot begrudge him. If he stays at Essendon that would be like boak staying at the power and may set Essendon up for 2016 if wads goes our way.

Definitely a chance.

But these clowns spruiking "done deal" are kidding themselves. There's a number of clubs interested.
No offence but the mail that Jake wants Carlton comes from two respected posters with connections to Jake's camp.

So it doesn't matter much who else is interested in Jake. In this instance, with Carlton's leverage with the Psd, it only really matters what Jake wants which is tough on Ess, but they are the breaks.

And by the way, referring to respected posters who are measured and more often than not correct as 'clowns' does you little credit.

It's an Internet forum, who gives a shit what credit it does me.

Of course he may go to Carlton, as I've said many times.

Claiming a deal is done and the only way it doesn't happen is if Carlton changes their mind is absolute clown claims.

There's multiple clubs interested who haven't even put a final offer to him. People who seriously think he's signed with Carlton already without even hearing them are clowns.

It's got nothing to do with trades either, not sure why you bring that up. He'll nominate a club and that's where he'll go.

Well it may be an internet forum, but I can say I've made good money betting on the tips from guys you call clowns.

So I'll run with their opinion.

And if you've got any faith in your own opinion, put a wager on it. I'll even give you odds. If Jake goes to Carlton you can use a Blues or Dogs avatar for a month. I will adopt an Ess avatar for 3 months if Jake ends up anywhere other than Carlton next year.

FFS how many times...

It's fully possible he goes to Carlton. They're interested and he's up for grabs.

But there's people claiming negotiations are finished, a deal has literally been done and agreed and it's all happened.

It's blatantly wrong and a laughable claim. There multiple clubs keen on Carlisle.

So no conviction in your own opinion. Understandable I guess
