So you think Carlton & St.Kilda won't have any success in the next 9 years?
Blues over the next 6 no.

Saints are 2 more in the wilderness, 2-3 becoming competitive, then peaking during the expansion team era.

Assuming Jake has 7 years ........ its a $$ decision.

Amusing how every other clubs supporters who dont have the PSD option open to them are tripping over themselves to take the moral high ground .
Be honest , if the boot were on the other foot , you'd be all over the chance too use it !!
For a late 2nd or 3rd round player maybe, I rate Jake worth more than that, players like that dont get to PSD.

WADA is the game changer .
Will any club be willing to take the risk and trade a first rounder ?
Carlton is the only Melbourne based club that the above doesn't apply to .
It's all up to Carlisle ...

Depends on how much you are offering him. We wont match the $700k he has supposedly been offered, he would be mad to pass that up. I still maintain we will get something done, may take some juggling.

Give us your read on that. We're interested.....

Let me start things off for you: Jaksch won't make it because......................
Because he has the hips of a 12 year old boy for one. How's he going to outbody his opponents?

Because he hasn't displayed any signs of win at all costs mentality in any of his AFL appearances.

Because his height is his greatest asset. If the kid was 10cm shorter, he wouldn't be on an AFL list.

Because he can't get a game in the worst team in the comp.

At least Tom Lee is behind AAs in Fisher and Dempster, and then a kid who was predicted to go top 3 by many 12 months out from the draft in Goddard.

Who is Jaksch playing behind?

Lose the patronising attitude.

No offence but the mail that Jake wants Carlton comes from two respected posters with connections to Jake's camp.

So it doesn't matter much who else is interested in Jake. In this instance, with Carlton's leverage with the Psd, it only really matters what Jake wants which is tough on Ess, but they are the breaks.

And by the way, referring to respected posters who are measured and more often than not correct as 'clowns' does you little credit.
Hey BRWB, which respected poster said it?

(genuinely interested as there has been lots of tolling)

Fair enough, HCJ.

My comment was a throw away line. I have no special insight into Jaksch. I was arguing with an Essendon poster about Tom Lee, plus picks 24 and 25 being traded for pick 12.

But just as he's no sure thing to fail, there's reasonable evidence to suggest that he may not flourish.

I've seen some players come through the ranks and I would be extremely surprised if Jaksch doesn't play 150+ games. Has the makings of a decent swingman. But i hope he plays more forward.

Hard not to be patronizing when you've stuck a fork in a 20 year old KP player whilst building up a dud like Lee.
What pick was that again and he's 4 years older than Jaksch for starters..................FFS? :)

Your club was after Jaksch hard but you lost out, hence the sour grapes. At least be honest.

Settle down Red. I'm sure he knows your management...
Everything he now writes, he can't help but have a dip at Carlton. It's now beyond sad.
Shouldn't you be amusing yourself with the poor St Kilda folk who are hypothesising about a player Carlton have already signed?

gday Bunky, how's your sanity holding up lately?:)

Where in my post do StKilda NOT screw Essendon?

If Carlisle picks StKilda, StKilda offer Pick 25 and maybe Hickey.

Essendon either accept that deal....or send him to the PSD.

Whichever club Carlisle picks, that club has Essendon over a barrel because they know that Essendon won't let Carlisle walk for nothing...especially to Carlton for nothing.

You'll get unders, a reasonable trade, but unders....no matter which club Jake chooses.
Right. So why would they include Hickey?

Absolutely.

And if he chooses StKilda, it will be for say your Pick 25.....and maybe Hickey if you are feeling generous. And EFC would have to accept it, or let him walk...and they WON'T let him walk...and StKilda know that.
agree entirely with this

they gave up a contracted ryder who is a much better player for what was it, pick 16?

theres no way carlisle is worth more than that. pick 25 + hickey, we'd want a small set of steak knives to go with that... maybe an old disinterested goddard? maybe next years third rounder?

so your first and second rounder for ryder. in the hickey and pick 25 trade you are essentially getting two 2nd rounders. its too much for the an out of contract carlisle who's in a long patch of poor form and with a ban over his head. we'd want something back with that deal
