Would be nothing better then seeing that cheating maggot turd club being on its last legs
Unfortunately the AFL will pay for their expenses and as such we will lose money from development at all levels. hirds shitty little "advantage" will cost every other club and supporter.

May do but let's be realistic.

First off Hird has cost the EFC by far the most. In dollars, players and reputation, not to mention the hope of a flag for a decade.

Now being pragmatic, as Essendon have a huge supporter base, we need them to be viable, so if the AFL fund them like they fund us and others, I won't be too worried.

Heppell played a straight bat on 360. Can't tell he isn't happy with Essendon and he is the most loyal as a supporter.

Can only imagine how let down he feels by the club he has always supported and played for.

i think for anyone who wants an insight into those banned players psyche really should listen to Timid when he talks about it. There is alot of pain, sorrow and frustration and he really does try to place peacemaker between club and players/fans etc

also we wont be the only club who might potentially benefit from this disaster Dyson is apparently very unhappy aswell at the moment. Some are even saying the bombers might be on life support in the coming years - if you choose to believe the whispers
Whilst I have absolutely NO sympathy for the club at all, I really feel so sorry for the majority of their supporters. I have two family members, fairly long- standing Bombers members, who are definitely not "#stand by hird"-ers and who, in fact, who are disgusted and disillusioned by the whole saga and the lack of responsibility taken by the club.
They have suspended their memberships as they have no interest in going to the footy this season...or probably for the foreseeable future.

I'm trying my hardest to add a little white to their black and red but at the moment they are pretty demoralized. So whilst many people are rejoicing at the fact Essendon is going to be on its knees for years to come, don't forget the thousands of their fair-minded supporters who are also suffering.

Good point. two of my Essendon supporter mates are the same. One has even changed to the kangaroos in protest although it has to be said he was never much impressed since Sheedy started going weird and wasting talent on their list (which could make one ask why North then?!)

I heard they have already signed more members than last year..
Honestly their such a big club even if none of the banned players wanted to go back their still going to be alright. They already got 2 top 5 dp's last season, they will get pick 1 snd probably pick 2 or so this season. In 5 years time their whole list will be transformed and wada will be a distant recent memory.
The players suffered, hird and co were absolutely disgraced. The club will go on.

I'd consider that most of the stress involved is due to the long drawn out legal challenges, and I guess most of them were caused by EFC, but maybe someone can go James Hird for his contribution of drawing the whole thing out.
Any lawyer more than 6 months out of Law School will rip the "my workplace turned me to drugs" argument to shreds in about 5 mins.

Having just watched 4 Corners and the way they have treated Hal Hunter, I have no sympathy for that scum of a club.

I am inclined to simply stand up and turn my back on them when we play them and I hope all opposition supporters do the same as a sign of protest.

Like the Catholic Church, they are more worried about protecting themselves than helping the victims. Absolute disgrace... as is the AFL in this matter.

Assorted Perennial Failures
Rancid organization devoid of any ethical or moral conduct. Pure evil.

The Four Corners report left me extremely ill especially when it made mention of the fact that Dank's injections into Johnny Mannah may have played a major role in accelerating his death by cancer. Absolutely disgusting.

Doesn't have to be new. Just believed by the court.

Hal Hunter is first under the wire.
I don't even think it needs to be believed. Just presenting an angle that can't be discounted will provide enough leverage for Jakes legal team to slip the value of the losses suffered in his renegotiated contract to the unpaid salary claim. I think it's just a way for Jakes legal team to make the hammer they are swinging look bigger and dangerous(er) in order to elicit a settlement.

Jake spoke the truth when he did exclaim "this club is f@*#ed" last year!

The game is still great, but the AFL under Dimis and Essendon under Hird has made the custodians and clubs in the AFL a great many things, none of them pleasant.

Interestingly, listened to SEN this morning between 7.00 and 7.45 and not a word abot 4 Corners.
The biggest story of the day and absolute silence.
Maybe Timmy had put an embargo on non positive Essendon news
They spoke briefly about it after 8... I didn't pay much attention as I had an inkling that Timid would carry on with his usual deflection tactics

They spoke about it after 7.45. I would be pretty sure Watson wouldn't tell them not to speak about it as they have now for 3 years when he has been on SEN. People mightn't like his answers or responses but they do speak to him about it. I actually would rather just talk about footy.

As for your other point about the players and loyalty I actually said that this is a different case in a previous post but I still expect most of the players to stay at the club. We once paid players 7 cents in the dollar and the players still stayed at the club. Loyalty can overcome many things for most players. There will be some that would leave no matter what.

I wad being a bit tongue in cheek about the 4 corners thing. Watson wouldnt have the pull. Just found it interesting that at the top of the news they didnt mention a thing about it.

With the dirty dozen. I would expect a few to up stumps. Hooker for sure.
And if we got either Hurley or Heppell I would be very happy.
As for the 7 cents. Yes true but need to take into account that was over 30 years ago where VFL was a suburban comp. Also the Saints didn't inject all sorts of shit into them that may cause cancer and a court has found already contributed un the death of a player in RL.

We all shall see in the fullness of time

I don't buy the argument that the AFL needs Essendon to be doing well. Having trashed the sport they should suffer for it. If they are whipping boys for years then too bad. I don't like the idea that supporters of other clubs are being softened up for possible helping hands for Essendon (which they've already had), in the 'bigger interest' of the game as a whole. The media is chockers with Essendon apologists and it makes me sick. If had been us or a number of other clubs who'd done this would there be a chorus of 'we need them, they are good for the game' from the media?

I would hope very much no St.Kilda supporters would do that.
Yes they stuffed up in a big way, but nearly everyone who was involved is no longer at the club. They're trying to move on and as supporters of our great game I'd rather back a competition of 18 well run clubs than belittle a club for past indiscretions.

This is going to get nasty.
You know Essendon will pull out all the stops to uncover any illicit drug habits before the snapchat, if Jake has any, which lets be real is very likely.
They created the druggie culture he was subjected to.

What I dont understand in all of this is why Monfries, Crameri, Ryder etc are playing along with their AFL masters and sticking fat with the Bombers. It makes them seem like a bunch of crooks imo.

If I had my way - Monfries, Crameri, Melksham, Ryder AND Carlisle would get their own lawyer jointly and stop toeing the bullshit bomber party line and wage absolute war on their former club. F*ck Essendon. These guys deserve answers. Screw this conspiracy of silence. Why are they still protecting their former club? The AFL is brainwashing these players. Carlisle and the other guys should come out swinging. It is wrong that someone like Hal Hunter is left out high and dry to do this. These 5 guys should put the blow torch on their former club and the Mgt at St Kilda, Port, Melbourne and the Dogs should support their players - not cover up for the Bombers.

You are very forgiving joop. I see that your other team is Leeds Utd, a former football powerhouse in England and Europe, suffering, probably for many years, for financial misdemeanors. That's how things are, do the crime, suffer the consequences. No sentiment from me.

Yes I get that but I still don't think many will leave. You obviously do and that's fine. Loyalty amongst players usually holds up no matter what but I do understand nothing like this has happened previously. If the players don't come to us id rather they stay. I don't want them to make other clubs stronger.
