**** I'd love to punch Purple square in the face. Just the way he talks and presents his bull shit story's makes my blood boil. WTF does the flog have against the Saints anyway? Always look for the low blow. Such a ******* rat of a human being...
He made it sound like it was devastating news about Carlisle but him needing 14 weeks off for a hip operation when he's suspended for a year anyway doesn't mean shit for St Kilda really, all that matters is that he's ready to go for pre-season when his suspension ends.

Just another nothing story that he was trying to beat up as being bigger news than it was.

Not that it matters but how the **** would Barret know anyway? Only people who know that would be Carlillse, his doctors and his family and mates. Sounds like an absolute guess to me.

Our head physio's name is Andrew Wallis and he has his own private clinic (which I think is the case for most physios hired by AFL clubs) so Jake may do his rehab work at the private clinic.
That's good for us but just shows how toothless the ASADA implementation of the ban really is.

Well it depends how you look at it. Fletcher couldn't even watch his son play footy. I don't see the issue if a person goes to a private clinic. The bans seem over the top to me, not toothless.

Barrett has fired a couple of shots at Jake recently. Suggesting he’s going to sue the Saints and that he has no mates at the club etc. Jake has fired back at him which has no doubt angered the attention seeking scribbler.

But if he’s trying to upset Saints fans with this latest one well he’s well and truly missed the mark. We all know Jake will miss 2016 anyway so what’s the big deal if he has an op? And if upon opening up Jakey’s hip they found more than expected, and then fixed it all, then that’s great. We’ve already seen how well this dude can play with all those hip problems so just imagine how awesome he’ll be now it’s all fixed!

And rather than worrying about his fitness programme and how that gels with our own training requirements, we can now just be content that he will be able to follow the normal rehabbing for this type of injury and operation.

All good as far as I can see :thumbsu:

But that was because he son played at his place of employment. Don't do the banned substances I guess...

But its huge news, the friendless Carlisle who is about to sue the club for eleventy gazillion $$$$ is now out for 14 weeks of a season he cannot play in.

Hold the presses. What a effing shit stain purple is

How disappointed would have we been as supporters if

a) Carlisle went down after a game and was out for basically the whole season with the buggered hip
b) he plays underpar all year because of the buggered hip and we all think we have traded for a bust

This news actually makes me feel better about the year off as he will probably have been shit anyway trhis year.

If this "news" by purple was designed to worry Saints fans, it, as usual, has missed the mark in a huge way.

No wonder purple is hated by all football clubs, total toss pot of a person and journo.

I understand that when the surgeon went in he not only found a buggered hip but also MH370, the G Spot and the Beaumont kids.

Just imagine how well he'll play with all that stuff removed :p

Oh Purple...
How you can be so consistently wrong and remain employed is beyond me... It's like people repeatedly believing politicians' election promises...
Journalism is not about truth. One wonders if it ever was, but today it's about clicks.

I have said it before and I will say it again, they are the biggest whores of the 21st century. The requirement to sell your soul comes frightfully quickly in journalism however always under the facade of promoting the truth. And it is seldom exposed as exactly that, because, well, that would take self admission by the industry itself....

Ridiculous that the club even has to justify this with a response.
Still waiting for an apology for the announcement that Carlisle was suing the club for non payment...guess I had better not hold my breath!
It never ceases to amaze me that there is no accountability for the rubbish these journos/rumour-mongers spout.

We’ll not get an apology.

Carlisle taking a line in Vegas reported as “The Biggest Footy Scandal Of The Year” around the same time as 2 Hawks players are being investigated for raping a girl in the back of a taxi. This is followed by days of ‘St Kilda Player’ and ‘Drug Scandal’ being used in the same sentence multiple times for a long time afterwards.

Hawthorn’s captain during the season drinks and drives and it’s in the media for about 8 mins, within a month of one of the coaches losing his son in a drink driving incident.

Collingwood’s 11 players failing an illicit drug test is in the media for about 3 days then disappears.

On top of that the AFL (afl.com.au) and HeraldSun now appear to be some kind of Essendon promoting PR machine, a club that cheated the game and put players health at risk are now being branded as some kind of warriors keeping their heads high despite adversity and must be assisted in getting out of the mess they created as quickly as possible.

I’ve possibly got the tin foil hat on here but it totally shts me how we always seem to be an easy target for journos to kick, it’s not just us either. Other less glamorous clubs like North seem to cop it also. Hawks et al are clearly connected in the media and seem to avoid this and the journalists won’t go there.

Only thing we can keep doing is calling them out on this sh*t. For Carlisle and the club to keep exposing them for the BS that is being written as they have been doing.

AFL journalism, like most tabloid journalism, is just a tool to manipulate people into thinking a certain way.

You are correct.

Unfortunately we have never had that strong voice at the club standing up to the media a la Eddie and so they have, largely, been able to get away with it.

A number of times over the years ( the schoolgirl that wasn't a schoolgirl...and definitely wasn't pregnant, the Tony Jones and umpires issue over on the west " now they'll know what it's like," Saints player, Carlisle - who wasn't a Saint at the time and many more times,) the club has just let these things go by without a whimper. Love or hate Eddie, he's out there defending his club.

RoCo rails against quality of journalism ... and journos commenting on each other. I'd rather he play a straight bat and stick to the footy.

And I'm a huge RoCo fan...
