Rubbish.

Kelly knows how to handle the heat. According to Champion Data, he was involved in more one-on-one defensive contests (65) this season than any other general defender. Most importantly, he lost just 16.9 per cent of them – ranked fourth among general defenders to have been involved in at least 30 defensive one-on-one contests in 2021, with Ridley the best (14.5%).

But the 26-year-old also added an attacking layer to his game during his time at the Crows. He was ranked second at the club for intercepts and third for intercept marks in 2021, while he also recorded career-highs for rebound 50s and metres gained.
Whats the data on....

This sounds like we should be getting band 3 Compo, they are making out like he's a star

?

I said he improved aerially.

He gets tackled easily in situations where players with strength would easily get out of it.

This is the classic “great result for all parties” outcome.

Good luck Jake, I think just about every AFC fan would be happy to see you do well moving forward. Anyone who boos him is a moron.
Narrator: and then three quarters of Bigfooty Adel boos him

Accidentally caught a few minutes of Cornes and KG this morning.

"Yet another player leaving the Crows, they have a serious problem, they can't hold their players, what is going on down there?"

Jake was then interviewed by them. He said the club is now in really good hands, on the right track, and he's returning to Melbourne for family and security.

"So can you answer some questions about the camp?"

Security is the answer. Probably a long term contract with improved salary. Anyone would take it.

The media has gone from not even knowing who Jake Kelly is to suddenly him being one of the best defenders in the competition, a massive loss for us and a great get for Essendon

It’s just the nature of being at the bottom of the ladder, every decision you make can be seen as a s**t one.

Jake definitely no star... but when he plays within his limits, he can get the job done. Looks like he works hard, congrats to him and best of luck. We deserve compo for sure.

Are you having a joke or did they really ask that question?
Context is the key.

Jake was talking up the club, club ambassador Cornsey in that light then asked based on that and all that’s been said about the camp can you shed some light on it.

Kelly used that to dispel a lot of the stories in the media and most part was a good camp.

Cornsey got what he wanted as that’s what he and the club had said all along but we know that’s bullshit given the fall out.

And yet some on here think Cornes is the Crows "mouth piece", this is the type of trolling I would have expected from the other Cornes.

I always remember Cornes interviewing Neil Craig at one point

He said “Neil what’s the ONE THING, just one thing that you reckon is responsible for the Crows improvement this year…just ONE THING, I’m going to keep you to just ONE THING”

Craig says “Well, I’d say it was just our general improvement all across the ground…”

Cornes jumps in: “Well I think there’s THREE THINGS…(???!!!)…your forwards are working better, your backs are tighter, and your midfield is more productive..”

You could hear Craig thinking “Well that’s basically what I just said..”

🙄😑
