Disagree. Kelly is a beast athlete. Will run all day and run to defend.
He won't run forward though. And given Essendon have a number of those types maybe exactly what they need.

Yeah it’s exactly what we need, should allow us to release the likes of Ridley and Redman to be more attacking.

Atkins gifted us band 4 last year when the Suns took him for 4 years at quoted $400K.
They were the same age when taken so I'm guessing Jake is on maybe $350K.

No real loss for anyone

Crows probably struggle to get pick 42 on the open market

And for 350k a year over 3 years there really isn't much to lose from that. Fairly minor

Perfect fit. A shutdown and intercept defender. Allows Hind, Ridley, Redman and Heppell a little more freedom to create.
Probably indicates that Hurley won't be back in a hurry, if at all.
If Hurley does come back, it will be a very solid defensive unit.
