What I'm hearing is both dons and dees are so close at 1 and 2 on his list it's whoever can do the best deal... loves Worsfold and Goodwin it's a toss of the coin for them just down to list and what they can give up.

But you're right, we may not be willing to give up Francis either, hopefully clicks for him that footy is his job and gets going soon.

I personally think it will come down to who he nominates rather than who can do the best deal. Hypothetically, say he nominates Essendon but Melbourne can give Adelaide a better trade deal he will still go to Essendon due to that being his preferred club or vice versa if he nominates Melbourne.

They will find out who can do the better deal before he nominates because they are so close. Please read before u reply

I read what you said mate, I just find it hard to believe the decision will come down to who gives the better deal. I just reckon Lever will nominate the club he wants to go to and the deal will get done regardless of whether the club he doesn't nominate can offer a better deal at the trade table. That's just my gut feel.

Oh please Adelaide aren't hard asses at the trade table much to the dismay of their supporters they end up getting the short end of the straw with trades.

Our first and second round picks for this year is my guess at what it'll be if he does actually nominate us.
Noble has moved to Brisbane. Reid is one who wouldnt be bent over by SOS for Gibbs.
Expect the Crows to act like that prick from Essendon.

I think Melbourne have been generally good to deal with over the past few years and won't be seeking to bend Adelaide over if Lever wants to come to us.

That said, I'm sure we will be on the right end of the deal if Lever indeed wants to come to Melbourne.

There is no way on gods green earth we give up Petracca. You don't give up an inside bull with Brownlow potential for an unaccountable defender who relies on you having a developed defensive unit.

I'm not saying he's not valuable, but Melbourne go backwards significantly in that trade.

To be honest, I don't want him. Would rather keep pick 10 and draft talent internally.

Francis and Essendon's 1st would get it done if Dee's aren't putting up a Petracca/Oliver ilk mid. Francis has everything you could want in a player, just hasn't taken preseason seriously - might have to go home to get it right - don't know what's up with him.
If Essendon can get it done with a Francis type, why the **** do Melbourne need to offer up Petracca or Oliver? Plus their first rounder is earlier anyway.

I think our list is in the position where we can trade for needs, to top up our best 22 and have a good crack at it.

If we bring in more kids, they will be 3 or 4 years away from premiership level football at the absolute best.

by having a crack at it, I assume you mean trying to make the top 8. If so, good on you for trying. I reckon you can get there one day.

More like-for-like, SA native, will run through the midfield eventually. I said Francis and our 1st.

It's what they'll ask for from Melbourne, Adelaide are in their window and they need inside mids, you don't have much else they would want.

Demon fans it is going to cost 2 high picks, a young gun and a good pick or a young superstar eg Petracca - make no mistake though Lever will be worth every single penny but Adelaide should and will get a very fair deal for him.

Yep agree. Lever is a much more known quantity at AFL level than using pick 10 in the draft. We're in a position now where we can trade for needs since we already have a core of players that should elevate us to premiership contention in the next 5 years or so at least. Lever and a quality outside midfielder would probably be our trade needs atm.

Don't be too upset if he is :)
I won't, he doesn't make sense for your list demographic and you're not in the running anyway. I'd actually him rather go to Essendon than most teams because he wouldn't improve you as much as he'd improve some other clubs.

Oh boy would he improve us :)

He's a legit jet and is built for our ball movement - very similar to crows and Hurley being next to him is very very appealing to him apparently. Loves john and Woosha rates him elite.

Have convinced just about the entire Essendon board we should be into him(only took 3 months) don't get me started schmuttt, I don't know how to stop when it comes to Lever ha. Will be a special player - whoever ends up signing him is in for some fun times.

Absolutely in the running, prepare to be very surprised is my feeling.
