Offer of 5 years at $750,000 per year from the Dees according to Jay Clarke
Article for anyone who wants to read it

Bit over hearing then Gibbs comparisons. Incredibly different trade and scenario not comparable at all really, but if it strengthens Melbournes case as a VIC based Jorno why not add it in ey?

Also think it's a little naive to thinks that if he goes to the draft Melbourne will just pick him up at 10 with no interest from other clubs, *cough (North, Collingwood, Hawthorn even Carlton for that matter)

Almost too many noises about him at Melbourne to ignore the fact that he's potentially going to end up there. Think a swap of 2017 first rounds, pick 27 and 2018 first rounder to Adelaide could get it done.

And again... I think there's some offended coming the crows way...

$750k pa over 5 years is hardly worth two firsts... I foresee our first and a swap of seconds
Think as a minimum they would ask for two firsts and you get a second back.

They can ask for a golden unicorn for all I care.

Fact of the mater is he's in the process of walking out of the club and in to a salary that's hardly earth shattering. People are punch drunk with whole trading future picks. He's worth a first round pick and a small set of stake knives.

If I was the Crows I'd be saying well Melbourne, we want Gibbs you go up the road and see your buddies at Princes Park and when you've satisfied Carlton you've got it done.

Wow, doesn't take much to convince you.

Still a very long way to go on this deal

Because he will be getting huge offers from other clubs. You will have to get close to another clubs offer for him to stay. So you could have Lever and Petracca taking up 2 million a year of the cap
So. You have Jenkins and Mitch McGovern taking up 1.5. I know who I'd rather be paying

Carlton would take 10 by itself for Gibbs you'd think.
You'd think, but I think they have been to Dodoro's school of Draft negotiation and are expecting a Priest vs Alter Boy result. I think the Crows get slightly pantsed with a Lever - Gibbs - Pick 10 deal. Melbourne throwing in a SA depth player might help them get over it. Crows will get 3 years out of Gibbs so for me Pick 10 is about all they should expect.

Gotta keep remembering that it's the clubs who will do the deal. Not the fans or the respective BF posters, thank goodness.
I think both clubs have been highly reasonable on trades in recent history (don't blame you guys that the Gibbs trade didn't go through). Crows have been very honourable in trading highly-rated players out, and Dees have been very amenable in trading players in. It would be enormously out of character for either side to take an unreasonable stance with this trade.
And you can bet that the final deal won't be one or other of the clubs' starting positions. There will be some coming together on both sides.
Oh, and it's more likely to be the Stringer deal that holds things up, if the Cats struggle to come up with the goods and/or if a few Vic clubs decide to throw their hat into the ring. Only when that deal's been decided will clubs that don't get him then look elsewhere.

Not a bad insight on Stringer but i'll still hold my belief till the bitter end that Lever will stay. Rooting for him to be there even if all the noise is saying otherwise. Until he categorically requests a trade or speaks ill of the club I'll remain steadfast.

I can understand that actually.
Though he doesn't seem to have anything against the club and he's sensible enough to not take any action until Crows finals finish.
Hope he comes to us with a premiership medal :).

So. You have Jenkins and Mitch McGovern taking up 1.5. I know who I'd rather be paying
What are you on about? Jenkins signed for $550k per year apparently and I can't seem to find the link to McGovern getting $$950k per year.

Can you show me that link or are you 100% full of it?

Big call for you here

Maybe I got Jenkins wrong I thought he was on 700k. Still Mitch is supposedly on a good wedge too and I'd rather have Trac and Lever on my list than Jenkins and Mitch

Ahh so you are full of it. We are apparently paying $550k per year to Jenkins and I can only see reports of us offering $350k per year for McGovern. Very close to what you will be paying Lever himself.

Good luck having Lever and Petracca on your list. Should be interesting next year when clubs make offers to Petracca of at least $800k per year, perhaps even over a million if he progresses again this year. This will force your other players out. Like Gawn, McDonald, Jetta Brayshaw who are up for new contracts next year

Just do a little research next time before you make a bold statement. So you don't come of looking like a guy that has no idea what he is talking about, and just makes things up:thumbsu:

Why would it force players out lmao. We have so much cap room we could front load Lever at 1.5m a year.
So your just pulling a random figure out of your asshole about Petracca to prove you shouldn't make up random figures?

You have to pay 95% of your salary each year. People keep saying they have so much room in the cap.

If you think you are going to pay a player like Petracca $500k per year, then you are going to be in for a surprise next year I think.

I'm basing my figures on your supporters views that Petracca is a lot better than Lever so if you are willing to pay X amount for Lever then you would think at least the same for Petracca

Yeah so you front load in advance meaning that you can have a heap of contacts all on the low side in one year. Learn about contracts.
Second of all players accept less to stay at their original clubs in general. Lever wants to leave Adelaide after you offered him 300k. We are just offering him a good pay day after you tried to rip him off.

800k a year for Trac? Sign me up. He's worth it and we will still have plenty of room to negotiate contracts

Haha I'm pretty sure we will miss out on him. Melbourne doesn't get good young players. He will end signing for Collingwood and we will lose Hogan to Freo for Balic
Well he look less and less likely to be staying with us, but a boy can dream haha.

If he goes to anyone, please don't let it be the pies. I'm trying to imagine him in a Collingwood Guernsey and it's too painful to bear
