Sound like a HUGE losing trade for Collingwood lol.
How so? Everyone gets what they want. If anything, I think Melbourne will be getting slightly bent over, but my sources reckon that Jack wants to get into coaching so, much like Sam Mitchell last year, we've helped him out because Collingwood have promised he'll be captain-coach from 2019.

What I'm hearing is that it's not a done deal yet, Eddie needs to pull some strings to make sure that 60% of the $14mil over 6 years they're offering is counted under footy department cap and not TPP.

There's an added layer of complexity in that they've also got Jack's aunty Mabel coming on board as Head of Football, and they don't want that to be misconstrued as anything to do with Jack under the salary cap.

Anyway, watch this space.

There goes any credibility of your posts on this thread.

Good laughs tho, I'll give you a solid 5.5/10 for your attempt to troll.

Sounds like garbage. Apparently it's a vice captain fire sale at the pies. Sidebottom and Howe both on the table! Just need Adams to be mentioned as a part of the trade by someone and we'll have the complete set!

Word is that Collingwood are definitely involved in the Lever trade, but it goes something like this:

Adelaide IN: Howe and Collngwood's first round 2017 pick (currently 6).
Adelaide OUT: Jake Lever, CEY

Melbourne IN: Jake Lever and Collingwood's 2018 second round pick.
Melbourne OUT: Jack Watts

Collingwood IN: Jack Watts, CEY
Collingwood OUT: Jeremy Howe, 2017 1st round pick, 2018 2nd round pick.

Apparently Bucks wants more mids and a reliable key forward, so I guess it's a win-win-win situation. :thumbsu:
Lol jack watts for lever and 2nd rounder

Collingwood giving up a draft pick that high plus Howe, plus next years 2nd round for Watts and steak knives?? Jack Watts is a very good player but no way is he worth all that. CEY has played a handfull of games and is largely unproven to be on the level plus coming back from a knee reconstruction.

Meanwhile Melbourne gets one of the most in demand players in the comp who also happens to have 10+ years ahead of him and higher upside than Watts would have now that he's around peak age. I don't dislike Watts at all, I quite rate him just think in this version of the trade Collingwood loses out, Melbourne wins, Crows probably break even.

Wow, don't shoot the messenger guys. Just passing on what's being said around the traps.
Fair enough, thanks for sharing.

Anyone who knows Collingwood though would know they would absolutely never agree to that trade, not only are they getting bent hard in that trade, everyone knows they completely over value their players and would demand watts plus a lot extra

Yeah, because we're totally going to trade pick 6 and our long term contracted vice captain for a tall defender that hasn't proven himself yet in a KPD role. Good one.
Strange that your club would be offering that kind of money for a player like that then isn't it... good one

You haven't heard shit.
Ummmm nah Howe's going knowhere.
I agree with you, the proposal above doesn't add up except to suggest Collingwood lose in the trade which is why I doubt it's accuracy. After the questionable stuff with Mayne & Wells I doubt they'll be as careless next time.
All of you do realise that it was a complete pisstake, right?

I agree it's strange and I've stated multiple times that I hope we don't get him.

As a side note though on the money vs trade value debate, Prestia was given a $750k contract last year by Richmond. 20% increase for the CBA bumps the equivalent offer this year up to $900k. They gave up pick 6 for him. Hmmmm....
