soft spot for Carlton out of pity
Pick 6 and Shaz seems a better deal it wont be hard to convince him to come home to his family also, Broomhead may not want to come to Adelaide
Got a vfl player for Dangerfield who hasn't played a game for us yet, why not another
Well the thing is guys is that we have inherited the O'Meara position. Think about it. Freo won't pick him up at 5. Nor will GCS at four. And I don't think Carlton, NM will risk Lever at 2 or 3 when he doesn't want to go there, Carlton in particular don't need Lever.

Bascially, if Lever goes to the draft it's probable he would get to Collingwood's pick 6. Be thankful we throw in a nice little sweetener aswell. Broomy is a talented player better than Gore.

If Lever went to the draft then he wouldn't get the choice so North Melbourne would take him straight away, he would not get to Collingwood

He would never get to your pick and you know it

Pick 6 and shaz a player thats had two or three recons and played less than 10 games isnt anything huge

You will need to convince any player to be part of the trade so it wont be too hard with Shaz being from such a close knit family

Deal would be a win /win

Only the dozen or so on the Crows board?
Adelaide Board is the busiest team board on BigFooty & of course has some idiot posters, but the vast majority are not dishing on him with chance he is leaving.

Love how opposition posters make sweeping claims on the view of the board based on 1 or a few idiot posters, which doesn't reflect the majority of posters.

... but play on.

We've had more issues convincing Broomhead to stay in Melbourne than we have had with Scharenberg. Pretty sure Broomy would jump at the chance to be traded home if it was offered to him.

I don't think we'd trade Schaz, his numbers this year have been ridiculously good, especially given the circumstances. He's starting to show why he was a top 10 pick.

It really wouldn't. Scharenberg is just as talented as Lever.

Why would Broomy jump at the chance to move to a club that sits on top of the ladder, pretty much says how many opportunities he will get, if he cant make a team that isnt in the finals?

Far from proven it, but the injuries also knock him back with the risk enormous.

Half the battle though in moving players is their want to move, I can guarantee you Shaz would move back to Adelaide in a blink
He's averaging 20 disposals and 8 marks a game (3rd league wide for average marks) coming off two knee reconstructions. I've seen plenty of him in both the VFL and AFL, there's no doubting his talent, the only question mark is his knees at this point. Whether or not he's willing to move back is irrelevant if we want to retain him. We have other SA boys who would be just as, or more willing to move in Broomheads case. Either way you look at it though, Collingwood aren't going to be willing to part with pick 6 and a former pick 6 who's just gotten past major injuries that they've persisted with him through.
On promise, Scharenberg and Lever would be a straight swap - but unfortunately for Collingwood and Scharenberg's trade value, he hasn't had the time to show it. So you're a bit stuck.
Scharenberg is contracted so we aren't stuck at all. We're not under any obligation to trade him, especially when his value is at its lowest.

Your midfield isn't as stacked as ours by any measure. As I said earlier, I'm a fan of Broomhead, but given our stupid focus on mods over the past few years I can't see him being given ample opportunity to establish himself in our 22. Your club's recruiters have kept in contact with him, so there's interest there.

You're changing the argument. I'm saying that if he was to be offered as part of a trade, you're stuck in terms of what you can expect for him right now because of his inability to get on the park. The fact that he's contracted is besides the point.

Even so; pick 6 and Scharenberg is overs.
