imo it is correct to say lloyd has serious deficiencies. he's tackling and spoiling is very ordinary. if he tries a pass that is not short and safe (and often backwards or sidewards) he turns it over. is also one paced. the truth is you can train up players to play in his position and he will only get more money from a side desperate to attract players. even compared to someone like malceski, who was similiarly one paced but, a better defender, a better and more creative kick he doesn't fare well.

Sun Bound ?

Sun Bound ?

thats the rumour but i have no idea. i really dont think you need to be overpaying a half back flanker like him. maybe if you can get him cheap but anything more than a third rounder is overs.

What the? He's our second best player according to our coaches. He is consistently amongst our best players. Definately worth a first rounder but this may not be reflected in his value as there is a danger of him slipping through to them in the PSD.

Lloyd has a lot of good attributes
Pretty poor 1 on 1 defender though.
Lots of contests on similar sized players where despite being in best position he gets outmarked.

I think he would definitely add something to our team.
We have pretty poor disposal out of the back half.

May and Joyce above average.
Thompson can take the safe kick but nothing more
Leslie not great decision making and wouldn't trust
Harbrow, KK and Lemmens when he plays there all below average on recent form.

I'd bring him to the Hawks for $500k at a pinch.
Really?
Stratts, Hardwick, Burton, Sicily.
I would say your defence is pretty sound. Reckon Roughie could play a role of HBF too

Lynch or McGovern would be ideal for the hawks.
Gunston and Breust are in quality form. Adding the 3rd tall to compliment them, or another running mid, would have been top of the list i'd have thought.

I'm not saying we want him....I'm saying he'd easily be worth that on the open market on the basis of his last 2 seasons & current form.

Also, only Hardwick is a small defender type of the 4 players you've listed there. Though Stratton can also do that roll well enough, even if he is 6'4.

Sicily plays as a key defender because of his aerial supremacy & ability to mark & read the ball in the air. And also at 6'4, I'd hardly be pitting Burton up against the smaller type forwards in the league, & he usually get the 3rd tall.....Now that Duryea has lost his spot back there, it's more the Impey, Morrison, Burgoyne & Teia Miles types who are playing that role for us now.

Still, none of them seem able to rack up the kind of numbers that Lloyd does on a weekly basis, although Morrison is certainly tracking in that direction....Morrison seems more ideally suited to further up the ground though, based upon his abilities & future direction.

Seems strange it has been so quiet for Jake. I get he isn't a superstar- but he is likely to win swans B&F and a key piece. Would be headline news if in a Vic team. I heard the suns were no longer considering. Anyone hear who's keen?

Chances aren't great if its stretching out this long- potentially the club needs some of the Dan Hannebery money cleared before it gets settled, but still super strange it has gone on this long.

Damien Barrett has said we are back in and have offered him a really good deal. So take it with a grain of salt but interesting stuff.

I don’t think you were ever out.

Normal for professional clubs to try not to talk about these things season proper.

(Unless you are St Kilda CEO in which case you declare interest / contract approach in a player who has 3 years remaining on his contract)

some pathetic defensive efforts against de boar in the weekends final.
