Is it Anthony Long?yes & there's no point looking back, regrets etc, but seriously we all know who we would have preferred.

Little should resign.
I guess we are lucky this didn't happen the year Joe was up for drafting!
Carlton, pick 3 - Jake Long.everybody just take a chill pill please. the only way he'd be on any clubs radar right now is out of spite.

keep it real BPB... it will be pick 1 surely
Ultimately we have a compo pick at the end of Rnd 1.. so pick 18.. Is there a chance that Long would go first round? maybe but unlikely based on performance so far.. especially as other clubs would be aware he would want to play at EFC.. so good chance we could get him with that compo pick if we wanted him anyway.
yes it is annoying, potentially embarrassing.. but there are options.
To me the article, talking about how important his studies to him this year are, it sounds like we're going to make sure recruiters don't get that much of a look at him this year and laying reasonable justification in advance to avoid too much scrutiny when we pick up in R4.Worth noting he was NOT named in any TAC cup squads.
We really are playing funny buggers with the AFL

Will probably play mostly APS. Hopefully well, but not too well.
Seems to me that things like this will be the 'bending the rules' of the future for clubs. find out if you have a legit f/s player coming through, then tell him to either have a year off or not perform to a high standard in the TAC cup, then take him with a 4th rounder...To me the article, talking about how important his studies to him this year are, it sounds like we're going to make sure recruiters don't get that much of a look at him this year and laying reasonable justification in advance to avoid too much scrutiny when we pick up in R4.

cal twomey barracks for essendonCal Twomey said he didn't have him in draft range. Can the kid actually play?
emma quayle barracks for essendonFuss about nothing. No mention by any of the draft guru's and Emma Quayle wrote an article last week about F/S possibilities for 2014/15. No mention of Long in Emma's article. The one to keep an eye on is Dean Wallis's son who is eligible in 2015. We need to bring Wallis back into the fold.
