My concern with soligo is his lack of speed. He tries to burst out of stoppages and get caught nearly all the time and when he doesn't the kick goes nowhere leading to his disposal efficiency being very low. He'd want to have a big year year next year otherwise I would trade him.

I think he didn't show up because we had a midfield full of support acts with no stars to support. I recall at one point calling him the Edwards to our current midfield, and he may not even be that good.

Should he be utilised a bit more on the wing rather than as a full time CBA mid? He seemed to get real banged up and struggled over the course of the full season.

Sounds like he's had OP. I think Burgess ran half our team into the ground.

Gee, that's harsh. He's clearly got talent at AFL level and started this season very well and really only dropped off in the later rounds. Need to remember he's only 4 years into the system as well.

Lots of very harsh critics of players that showed an ability to help a team win 18 games across a 6 month season. Of course they are disappointing, but it doesn't mean players like Soligo suddenly aren't up to the level. He's shown glimpses of A grade ability across consistent periods of a season and I'm sure that will continue to lengthen out the longer he's in the system.

3 weeks ago he was being highlighted as one of the best tackle breakers in the league this season and helping us drive out of stoppages

Well that’s just garbage. Couldn’t tackle him high when he could break tackles consistently and drive out of a stoppage for most of the season.

And Soligo has shown his peak is up there comparable to A graders. Nearly a 2x Showdown medalist up against a quality midfield.

He already has excellent core strength which is why he can break tackle and also a burst of speed so is deceptively quick.

He fell off badly last year and we all said that he just needs another pre season. Well he did the same again this year.
One of Nicks favourites so performance isn't really critical for him.
Has a few really good games but not enough, he's starting to get a bit frustrating as we hoped he would keep improving but hasn't kicked on.
