Soligo has been out of form lately, although I still think he's been a decent contributor. But his disposal count is well down, and he's not doing as much with it even when he gets it.

In Q4 last night, he seemed to move into a very close defensive role on Neale, and did it very well. Perhaps this could be the next step for Soligo? We've been reluctant to tag over the years, but if Soligo can stifle Neale, he can stifle anyone. And if nothing else, it will keep him in the vicinity of the ball.

Seems a waste of him long term.
But happy with it if he's effective and it's just "for now". He did quite well, and maybe he'll learn something.

The Matthew Nicks Method does not require bulk disposals

Yeah I know you’re being sarcastic, but I do think the identity that we’re trying to build isn’t based off of that. Moreso off of pressure + score off turnover

That said, I do wish we’d become at least a bit more balanced scoring side

His first month was amazing, but then apart from a brilliant second half against Collingwood - he has been very much down this year.

In 2024 - he only had 8 games with less than 20 touches. As of Rd13 this year he has 7.

The good thing about Soligo is that even though his form is down considerably on his best, he is still a valuable contributor.

I suspect it's physical and he's carrying something or just struggling with the demands of the role. As you say was terrific early in the season. Hopefully the week off for the bye helps.

I thought Friday night was one of his better games for a while. He has been a bit down but 19 touches and 13 tackles in a tough wet game ….

I thought it might be injury until his 2nd half performance against Collingwood. Had 17 touches and 2 goals in the 2nd half and almost won it for us.

It's not sarcastic

We've lost the disposal count in 4 of 9 wins

If he isn't injured, get rid of him.

Absolutely awful in both finals.
I doubt he's injured. He's a B-grader at best and his second half of the season reflects that.

Not everyone can be traded, but gee if a good deal comes about...
