What do you prefer

Pick 11 + 47 for Stringer and 26
Or
Pick 25 + 30 for Stringer
That's very hard to answer. I think it depends on what we can turn 25 + 30 into, as I don't believe we need 4 live picks (unless we lose all of Honeychurch, Campbell and Crameri, of which I think we'll lose 1-2 only).

I hate using the points system to evaluate picks not involved in F-S or academy bidding, but option 1 was a net of Stringer for 916 points (equiv pick 20) and option 2 was Stringer for 1385 points (equiv. pick 11).

Unless we can use picks 25 + 30 for a good trade target or turn them into a first rounder, I personally would have preferred the first deal, but I have absolutely no idea what the club is planning so my uneducated opinion isn't worth anything.

Exactly. So it was a good deal for you.

The bloke I quoted posted we knocked back pick 11. As with the Smith trade, it wasn't just pick 11, it was pick 11 with something going back the other way - pick 26. That wasn't a good deal (according to the Bulldogs) and it certainly wasn't as simple as 'knocking back pick 11'.
I think the issue was your President had to get involved and the talks stalled.

i havent followed this too closely but from what i can gather Stringer wants to go to the Dons, the Dons want Stringer, the Dogs dont want Stringer and nobody else wants him either.

the deal will get done and he'll go for unders based on talent and about the right price based on application.
Pretty much

Probably the second option giving us 4 picks in the top 30. It's a better deal and I hope we take it.

I also honestly don't think the second offer is bad. Having 4 picks in the first 30 allows you to refresh your list. Perhaps 25+26 can be packaged to someone else for a higher draft pick. But that would require the Dogs to do the deal early so that there is enough time to do the second part of the deal.

I'd guess that's part of the hold up - we're shopping around the 2 Bomber's picks to see if anyone would be willing to deal, as soon as another club comes to the party I think the trade goes through. It probably still will be done come 2pm on Thursday (I don't think Stringer will be at the Dogs next year regardless of what trade we need to take), but there's no point rushing it yet until we know the options. Again I'm guessing though.

Perhaps a team like West Coast or Adelaide might be interested for pick 13 or 16. I think 25+27 will be more enticing than 25+30

As an Essendon supporter it's nice to be on the other end of the deal this time, and hoping we can get it done. It's interesting to see how similar this arrangement is to the Ryder and Hibberd deals, where Essendon then, and the Bulldogs now are getting screwed in the trade because of their own club's actions. Essendon's because of their failings with the whole supplements fiasco, and the Doggies for Bevo coming out and devaluing a blue chip commodity early. For Doggies fans I am not trying to compare the two or say they are anywhere on the same scale, just sympathising that we know how it sucks to lose a star player for unders!

I think most Dogs supporters would be wise to wait until the trade period is actually complete before calling for heads to roll or declaring that it's been amateur hour. There is always a lot more happening behind the scenes that we don't know about, and there is still 4 days to run. Calling it a disaster for the Bulldogs extremely premature.

Who's head do you think should roll?

I think the impact of whats been said publically is overstated. Nothing has been said that anyone looking at trading for him wouldn't know simply by doing their due diligence anyway.

I think you're spot on. Good to see there's at least one dog supporter who's not a dribbling, deluded mess.
