Well then we'll see if removing Jake can get you higher then 6th on the ladder for the first time since 2010.

Pretty sure we finished first at the end of 2016. There's this thing called a Grand Final which determines the final placings for 1st and 2nd.

A kid called Tom Boyd managed 6 contested marks and 3 goals that game, which I constantly remind my Saints friends was Nick Riewoldt's total tally in 3 Grand Finals (Nick had zero hit-outs too). Happy days

Maybe they've gone back to the early 20th century where there were two Essendons: The first Essendon (basically the club today) that were based in South Yarra and called the 'same olds' and some racist upstarts based in Essendon called the 'blood-stained n-gg-rs'.

Then the same-olds failed in their bid to merge with Hotham (now called North Melbourne) and eventually kicked the racist nu-Essendon out of Windy Hill to reside there for decades until the Bowls Club out-foxed them and they moved to Tullamarine. Essendon would later claim the 1924 flag despite not playing a Grand Final that year, and then lose to the VFA premiers Footscray.

Huh, the Essendon FC was based in East Melbourne although I guess South Yarra is close enough and yes the club did vote to merge with North which was overruled by a few wealthy backers who were like nah we are Essendon we are Essendon and so we then moved to Windy Hill, I'm not familiar with the other Essendon with a racist name.

No...I understand that winning finals is such a foreign concept that Essendon supporters think that the season ends when the Home and Away games are all done. You really should have a go at winning a final...it's much better than anything that happens in the trade period.
