You can count Geelong out, we dont have any players bulldogs will want and we do not have any attractive picks. I suspect it be similar to delidio last year. Stringer will go to a club that can make a trade happen. Most likely essendon.
Deledio didn't get done because Geelong (well specifically stephen wells) didn't want to Stringer will get done if we want it to although i expect he will choose extra $$ at essendon anyway so it's probably irrelevant.

What do you think you would give up should he nominate Geelong?

I think Essendon has been into Stringer for a while now but we shall see what happens.

I don't know about that, we'd be pretty happy to take danger

Horlin-Smith, McCarthy, Ruggles, even Stanley. Not that they are any sort of amazing players, but they could fill a role for the Doggies.

No they wont, not for stringer and what other clubs can give. You basically offering non best 22 players for one of the best players on another team.

But if Stringer wants to go to Geelong they have no choice really. Adelaide could have gotten more for Danger if he went elsewhere but because he nominated Geelong they had to settle for what they got. At the end of the day players tend to win out when it comes to trades.

However if Stringer is chasing money then yeah he will go elsewhere. If he was simply chasing money though I don't know why a player would be interested in Geelong in the first place

Danger was a FA. Stringer is contracted so they won't accept peanuts & they dont have too.

I don't think you can count Geelong out until FS bidding and compo picks have been made known. Right now it looks difficult but that can change quickly.
Thats fair & I think he'd be a good fit for them. Genuinely keen to know what would be on the table though. Motlop would be the only FA that could net you semi decent pick but would still be late first round - second round. Would you give up say Parfitt or Cockatoo to get it done?

I agree with that but we have seen time and time again the player usually wins out. If stringer is stubborn and wants to go to Geelong and Beveridge wants him gone then he has to accept what he can get. We saw a similar situation with Boyd and Griffin.

In any case I think it won't come to that and he will go elsewhere. But I also don't think pick 20 and a decent fringe player is necessarily terrible either if it came to that

True. I guess it all comes down to who he nominates & how open he is to going somewhere else if they can't strike a deal.

Carlisle for example nominated the Saints but when Baines wouldn't pony up a fair trade for him he was from all reports happy to go to the Hawks too as they were offering a fairer deal.

Time will tell.
