This is the same as when the Saints people tried to say their list was better then the Cats in 2007 all over again.
on a side note i wanted the Dogs to pick up Membrey also, but compared to jake he has nowhere near the talent and upside, its Like Crameri to Stringer, they will both kick 30 40 to 50 goals most years but Jakes goals will be more note worthy and will also have more mid field time.
Crameri vs Membrey would be a better comparison, similar players although Crameri has played higher up the ground / wing under Bevo.

Membrey blossoming and looks set for a long career, Crameri has 4 x club goal kicking awards to his name and needs to show he can get back to his former level.

Member berries are always good.

Stringer had his moments. Is playing in a grand final next weekend.

Stringer has the X factor and personally I think he has the higher ceiling between him and Membrey but what does him playing in a GF have to do with the comparison between the two? He was great against the Hawks in the Semis but pretty average in the other two games- just goes to show the one thing he can work on is consistency. Exciting stuff if/when he starts to perform consistently over the next couple of seasons, big gap between his best and worst though.

Hope he plays well in the big dance for the Doggies sake, a big performance from him against the Swans will be invaluable.

Membrey has had a great season, granted. It seems as if, however, that saints fans are trying to rate him too highly, as the poll shows he isn't close to stringer
Who cares?

I'd be more worried about the grand final tbh :)

Was disappointed when we didn't land Membrey. Thought a future forward line of a Boyd, Stringer, Membrey, Crameri would have been lethal.

Rated him as a junior and wanted both Stringer and Membrey. Shame. Would have been handy this weekend.

Glad we were able to resign Mason Wood too. Would be a star at the Dogs imo.

That would be huge, especially Membrey, Crameri and Stringer. A tall defender would go to Boyd but figuring out what happens with the other few would be a difficult decision due to their in-between sizes and variety of midfielder/tall forward traits.

Clay Smith goes alright too. Good luck on the weekend.

Yeah precisely. Boyd as the forward/ruck and multiple players that are too big for medium/smells and too mobile for talls. Membrey would play the Cordy role had we landed him.

I was real keen on Membrey. Saints done brilliantly getting Bruce and Membrey for literally a bag of chips.

Yep literally. Membrey DFA and pick 48 or so for Bruce which we wouldn't have used anyway, and GWS didn't end up using it either.

Life after Riewoldt went from a potential disaster to not looking too bad in about a season or two (with Paddy drafted as well).
Membrey really benefited from a pre-season full of running and getting his tank up, couldn't do much else for a while as he was recovering from a shoulder. Heaps of endurance work worked wonders for him.

Might as well go by their Brownlow votes for the year (where Membrey got more from 17 games than Jake has had in his whole 72 game career!). :p
To be fair to Jake he does have more players around him that take votes off him, than if he was at St Kilda.

Not the sort of player to get the umpires attention anyway. Can be very quiet for a large period of the game then kick 4 in the space of 5 minutes. Very much a confidence/momentum type player.

Scary thing is he had a very poor year by his/everyones standards and still managed to kick 40 odd goals for the year.

Whilst not starring in the finals (maybe in the Hawks final he did) he still bobbed up and kicked some important goals and did a lot of team things like smothers, etc that went largely unnoticed.

I would imagine the coaching staff would have his returning to form at the top of their priorities over the summer. Adding Crameri and Cloke will assist him as well.
